Red to Fernandez might be a bit harsh. Roger deserved the red, but there was no intent. What gets me more is that Blanco gets away without a card despite being an instigator. If he doesn't go in and "headbutt" Gutierrez there's no Roger action for a red card.
Generally speaking, hand to neck is always a straight red, force of not. Same with headbutting.

Erick Gomez-Mendez Agreed. It was absolute BS. Also, we got shafted by the sideline refs who missed an offside play by SKC that resulted in a goal. The refs involved in that game should be ashamed of themselves.

Obviously Espinoza should’ve been sent off for literally choking Blanco. BUT, Fernandez got shafted by that red card. His contact with the other player was negligible at best and maybe worthy of a yellow card. However, as I said, the red was absolutely ridiculous given how minimal Fernandez’s contact was. A very poor and shameful performance by all the referees involved including the sidelines refs who missed a clearly offsides play by SKC. The MLS needs to seriously address its officiating discrepancies if it wants to be a respectable league on the world stage. Nothing like this would happen in Germany, England, France or even Italy. Officiating in the MLS is a joke and the POR V SKC game was a fine example of it. Shame on you MLS.

I was at the game. The PK was given after the game was over. He blew for the game to end and then reviewed the play. Is that even possible? Second there was about a minute with two stoppages after the so-called PK play and no review. Third is not clear and obvious that it was a PK as the NE player pulled away from Mabiala and he fell in the opposite direction from the "pull" It was an obvious dive in real time and still is.
That Atlanta goal called back for offsides was a lot closer than the offsides that wasn’t called on SKCs goal......fantastic

No mention of either Loons game? Wednesday vs Sporting KC featured a goal scored with the hand and a yellow (1st of 2) for Chase Gasper on what looked like an obvious dive during a dead ball. Would have liked to see a replay since it wasn't included on the highlights video.

Timbers had two victories taken away by bad calls this week. The officiating in this league is a joke.

Im surprised that nothing really happened with the Rapids this weekend. Usually there's some cards and annoying calls but I'm glad Tim Howard didn't see any of these on his final home game

Offside is not based on the last defender, it is based on the second to last defender. The keeper counts as a defender, and the vast majority of the time, the keeper is the last defender, but not always. You really should not have a show like this if you are making this mistake.

Hey Bobby, as a former pro yourself it really throws me off to see you being so agreeable in giving out PK's for obvious flops and legal contact in a contact sport. But lets keep turning the MLS into the softest league ever
My quakes got robbed on that call. But they dont deserve to make the playoffs the way theyve been playing. 6 straight losses???? Yeah. A single penalty call doesnt excuse that type of performance to end a season.
They should review NWSL, too. A save of the week was actually a take down in the box. At least it's good to know there's one league in the world called worse than MLS.

I'm amazed that I keep seeing this theory pop up. If it were true, Seattle would be seeing an up-tick in ridiculous calls as well. They haven't. It's just the same shitty reffing we've all been watching the whole season. People seem to have a need to believe there's a higher power pulling the strings instead of just acknowledging refs can be bad.
Portland got screwed twice by PRO. No way is that Mabiala “foul” a pk. And that game should’ve been over anyways. Ebobisse should’ve had a pk if we are gonna call the Mabiala play a pk. And there’s no way that Fernandez should’ve been sent off. MLS is punishing Portland for the flag protests by screwing out of games.
