    I think we can or should maintain safe overtaking distance at least 2 feet to 4 feet and warn against accidents due to excessive speed

    I solved last problem value is coming around 576m. Answer given is 625.
    Last V value also 22.22 I considered.

      Actually these data taken by lots of experiments which are going on everyday...and you can also think from your common sense that if you have to overtake the manuever over impeding vehicle.your speed should be less..suppose agar car ko overtake karni hai to phle to speed decrease hi Krna hoga ....

    Vb isn't the velocity of a1 but how u have taken a2 only have velocity Vb please explain

      The overtaking vehicle first need to attain the velocity of the vehicle needed to be overtaken,then accelerate.
      Vehicle A attains speed Vb spped then accelerate

      Dilip chandra gorantla I don't know much but the differential speed between the vehicles is assumed to be 16 kmph.

      Dilip bhai.. According to IRC for designing of road they gave standard relation . If road is designed for V kmph then -: Va=Vc=V & Vb=( V-16 )kmph
