@@SSNFastAttack Oops, I wanted to post that comment on your video of the kids and you touring USS Massachusetts! Not sure how I ended up on the model video :)
Awesome to see you and your son enjoying this beautiful model. Thanks for sharing this with everyone. The Bancroft models are truly beautiful. Can’t wait to see some videos of her on the water.
truly a magnificent model of a great subject. I am a model ship builder and have the Amati 1/250 plank on frame version. I am impressed by detail of both. Nice to see a premade version with such magnificent detail.
Careful with the Two center panels with the opening on the bottom on one of my boats there was no tape. Grab her by the hull to get her out of the box or you may have her drop on you. This goes for pretty much any of Bancroft Ship. And the rigging lines are sometimes just a touch off on length but a little bit of dark thread and it's easy enough to fix with time and steady hands and maybe a set of tweezers. PS wear a bib you'll likely be drooling over the details ;)
Thanx for video! Actually I'm disappointed that the upper deck is not from lasercut wood sheet and also openings at the side are ugly and do not match with the rest good looking details. A little bit unfinished but nice model.
Ditto. Maybe the laser etched deck can be ordered from different supplier. I thought hand brushing a thin layer of dark wash might fill in the grooves and give it a dimensional look.
@@SSNFastAttack No, never going to sell it. Might drill holes and adding lights to it in the future :) I was a pain to get to Norway too. I had to find it in a store in England and it was actually the last one I found anywhere back in 2013. Cost a small fortune, but when you adore Titanic, you pay the price :)
Hi as a few people have pointed out about the water line it's too high. I checked out the Titanic filming model it should have 3 rows of port holes and then a fourth strip with no port holes. That's all well and good but in your opinion adjusting the ballast could the bancroft titanic still be stable enough in the water with the lower red. Many thanks Paul
I just got mine yesterday and the wiring to the masts were broken and a lifeboat davit was dangling on the side. Disappointing, but I’m trying to fix it. Mine had a lot less “packaging” than yours too I noticed.
Have you had to replace any of the riggings? Just got mine today and I’m sure in the future some of the riggings will come lose or will start to sag from use.
Mine is due to arrive today, I’m mostly worried bout sagging. I’ve had it happen severely on another model of mine and don’t want it happening on this one.
@@SSNFastAttack thanks! I look forward to unboxing mine. Also a little nervous about how it will arrive. Fingers crossed everything went fine during shipping 🤞😬
Shouldn't the American flag be on the mast located at the bow instead of it being attached to the mast at the Stern? And the White Star flag should be on the mast that is located at the Stern. Just wanted to let you know.
I appreciate the video but there is a discprency in the accurate detail of the model, with the foremast, there was no boom coming of the forward mast as seen here in the video time index 8:10 the real ship didn't have this, which is why I can't understand why model builders intend on putting this boom there. If anyone can show me documented proof from real photographs of the titanic, will appologise
I'm sorry, I bet this was an expensive thing but are you telling me they could not be bothered to add a thin layer of wood veneer to the superstructure decks?? So you have painted plastic decks on a 1/200 scale model clashing with the parts they did stick the veneer on! Some of those windows on A deck don't even look like they were cut out properly (see 16:38 on the video) You will have to move that sign from the docking bridge to the stern rail and you mentioned having to re-paint the waterline as it's too high. You should not have to do those things on such an expensive model!
There's room to do it. I imagine you would need to strands accommodating hull and superstructure. I would not drill holes, the slightest breeze would threaten water introduction.
Dad's doing a great job of keeping the kids interested!
Thanks

Not sure why, but it's a missed opportunity.

It comes with the rigging to the masts unassembled. Was a line parted? Cheers
Also, FedEx can't read handling instructions.
Do they ship the Model in other Countries? Or is it just available in the US?
Grettings from Switzerland
Motionrc.eu should have some for you. Cheers
I see photos of Olympic and the ship have a very hight floating line. But i think in this model the floating line is a little bit out of scale
Agreed, the waterline is slightly off. Someday I'll get around to fixing it.

I think you are right, but usually destination nation goes on the main mast, and the "rear mast" was the main on Titanic.
