Thanks Hamin vai for your honest views. I hope Arnob vai will take advices. Say for example the Bappa vai was singing Tagore song when he himself has many popular songs. It should have been done by Sadi Mohammed or Kaderi Kibria. Now even Sadi Mohammed passed away. And I also agree that coke studio Bangladesh should be the name of the programme.

You surely have missed the point. You're only talking about the reactions from the people and their appreciations, he has rather spoken the technical perspective. Coke Studio Bangla is only focusing on the traditional music that's what he said, but our musical culture is much more than that and you gotta accept it. Well, if you say he's talking about his rock band music, well still there's many more options we can bring to the world. Can you name any Lalon, Hason Raja, Abdul Karim, Nazrul Giti song that Coke Studio Bangla reproduce?
That's what this guy talked about, versatility. Focusing onto only Shaotal and Chakma doesn't claim that it's our music is all about.
And, stop get into the hype of reaction videos from different countries, cause we all know majority of them are fake reactions, why they do so!
And, personally I never support Coke Studio Bangla instead of Bangladesh.

I think Hamin Bhai has rightly pointed out what has been echoed by so many Bangladeshis from the start of this nonsense. The fact that the show should have been called Coke Studio Bangladesh instead of the farce that they decided to name.
I also agree with the fact that they should have started with established songs and try and make contemporary renditions rather than establish themselves as "intellectual" music producers. There was no need for this force-fed propaganda, art should always be free of that nonsense.

Mr. Hamin, you are wrong through and through. CS pakistan had done episodes with the likes of Abida Parvin, Rahat Fateh, etc. Are they pop singers? They had also collborated with musicians of other countries like Turkiye, etc., so why can't we? It's been announced that we have collaborted with multiple countries this year, not just India, so please relax.

There is only one point to agree with hamin ahmed is that the name should be Coke Studio Bangladesh, not bangla.
Lastly, Mr. Hamin, how many episodes did Coke Studio INDIA do highlighting BANGLA that they would invite us to join the party?? Their focus has been mainly north; i don't know if that will change or not. But we named it Coke Studio Bangla to uphold the greater regipn of Bengal because BANGLADESH is only 50+ years old, but BENGAL, BANGLA, BENGALIS have been around for over a thousand year if not more. And of course, there could have been copyright claims as we saw with some songs. Bottomline, territorialism might work in some cases, but here we are celebrating the commonness of language and culture. When coke studio Pakistan drops a punjabi song, indian punjab also dance to it. So, come out of that narrowness and think global, think big.
And in season 3 they have brought out a legendary song OBAK BHALOBASHA hoping they will cover more songs like this up ahead

Coke Studio Bangla has done more highlighting unknown gems and our forgotten culture than any of these people or show has done.
It's easy to sit on your couch and criticise other people's work but every music video comes with 100+ talented people behind em.
So unless you can do better, sit down, stay quiet and move along.
People like these with guitars think they know all about our culture and what is or isn't worth people's attention.
It's pathetic that he criticises Coke Studio Bangla for highlighting Shaotal and people of other ethnic backgrounds.
Bangla band music has an enriched history and place in Bangla music and also it has become an inseparable part of our Bangla culture. And Hamin sir's along with Miles' contribution to that can't be underestimated. Coke Studio is bringing new faces and the songs are getting short term hypes. But I find myself rarely to listen to their songs from previous season. Whereas I listen to songs of Miles, Souls that were created even 10 years before my birth. Songs from 30-40 years back. And people still appreciate those. Anyome who will look at the bigger picture won't be able to say such thing. They not only know about culture but created an era. Also his mother Firoza Begum mam was one of the most promiment Nazrul geeti singer and father Kamol Dasgupta even gave tune to many songs Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote. Department of Music, University of Dhaka gives scholarship every year to the brightest student and a renowned musician of the country every year that is in her name. Without this family our culture would look different. This is where their place is.

In Pakistan the overall responsibility of Coke Studio was given to a famous, successful and experienced musical-band called Strings. Since Strings was a successful band, they knew how to make Coke Studio successful. Coke Studio Bangla shoulder get a facelift starting from changing it's name to Coke Studio Bangladesh. Secondly the overall responsibility shoulder be given to an experienced & successful musical-band like Miles, Souls, Feedback etc. and not to an idiot like Ornob. Mr. Ornob had only one good song, he was not a successful musician, how can he make Coke Studio successful ?
Yes you r right.Rohail Hayat the famous keyboard player of Vital Signs was the first music director of Coke studio Pakistan. After few years Strings played a role as music director.

He represented Vital Signs in the early years of Coke Studio because by that time Vital Signs had unofficially disintegrated. He was successful, knew how to be successful and helped Coke Studio to become successful before handing over the baton to another successful band the Strings.
