Spectacular video. My wife and I did this trail 30 years ago and so it was nice to see such a professional well done video to remind me of this experience. One experience you brought back to my mind was with the mud shots. Yes there was a lot of lot of mud. I remember not choosing my step very well and sinking into a mud hole up to my knees. Not pleasant.
What a magnificent job you did of capturing the power and beauty of the trail. You got EVERYTHING and more. I last hiked it 3 weeks before I met you. I caught covid on the bus but the GDT cured that!
Thank you Jackie ❤️ The west coast trail was one of the most special hikes I've ever done, I wish it was longer...the temperature was on our side! I agree with you, nature is a definitely cure!
That was cool to try! At 3:30 you can notice something falling into the river, a water splash, it was my friend cellphone, we searched for it for about an hour into the forest…no success, we checked the video to find out it fell out from his pocket, despite everything it still works perfectly 😅
@@Ratatrail yes. Left on the 28th. Eight days. Rain started at the last 3kl marker! Also stayed at one of the comfort cabins right after the Crab Shack meal!
Great adventure and great video on a professional level! We enjoyed the fantastic takes of the big ladders, the bridges, the fallen trees, the muddy paths, the insects and all the sea animals! Wonderful! Greetings from Germany, Werner
Hi! Thank you for making this video. It was really helpful. I have a question. Do you think it is possible to camp with hammock there? I have no idea how the campsites look like.
Thank you! Hard to say, we were camping on the beach almost all the time, the forest is just behind, you would be able to find enough threes except maybe for one campsite!
how were your Altras? Did you just have wet feet all the time and it was ok? Did they dry out every night? I'm debating weather to use mine or not. I'm leaving on June 23 South to North this year.
They were perfect for me but it all depend of the weather that you’ll have! I did the whole Pacific Crest Trail with altras in worst condition, I’m just a fan of the lightweight, they gets wet fast but also dries very fast! Good luck on your journey, it’s gonna be epic 🤠
Amazing, this trail is so beautiful, almost unreal!! The crab 🦀 was freshly caught by the people at the ferry, I don’t remember the exact price, it was expensive but so worthed, they only accept cash! Enjoy 😊
I got goose bumps. The best West Coast Trail video I have ever seen.

Thank you!! I’m amazed to know that you did it 30 years ago, how was the ladders condition? What was different? Type of equipment you had?
Fantastic video. Such a good eye!...and that's just not because I'm in this video 😉😁
One of the best WCT videos I have ever seen.
Thank you! This trail was so much fun, incredible!
Beautiful. What a great trail to do. I can still taste the crab and baked potato dinner at the river...
After eating dry food for days, eating fresh food was the best feeling!!

Wow that trolley rope cart thing was wild!

I did the Trail the same week. This video gave me chills. I loved it so much. My last big adventure sadly.
Such an amazing adventure!! Maybe we saw each other, did you hike it from South to North like us?

Hey we're strating the trail in three days. The crab there - is that something you all caught or provided at the ferry? Is it an extra cost?

guess there's no reason to carry a point and shoot camera anymore. thanks
