      Rocks do make it onto asphalt on occasion, but normally they're just referred to as pebbles. Tomato/tomato.

    Orilleys sells a tool for running the wire through rubber grommets. Looks like a screw driver with a hole in the handle . I've always ran my constant and ground wires just like did . I've been wanting to do switches in my over head center console . I would suggest using wire loom to straighten up some of the wires in the engine bay and it's added protection .

      I plan on wire looming everything just ran out of time that night. I don’t like the bare wire look.

    Sup brother! Great video. Question I saw when you connected the two wire with the heat shrink thing, now I noticed that both wire are different sizes? What gauges were they?

    I got that exact switch for my rock lights but for some reason it isn’t communicating with them even though the switch it self turns off & on. I have my load wire coming from the switch connected to the main red positive wire from the rock lights with a fuse on it. I’m stumped on why the switch isn’t communicating with the lights whenever you turn the switch off & on… My ground for my rock lights is the negative pole on my battery but they would always stay on or hot the whole time connected to the battery even when I would turn my switch on & off so I wonder if its my ground for the rock lights that could be issue & why it’s not communicating properly. I would appreciate some feedback from you on what you think could be going on, that would be great!

    I mean, this is cool (switch box mounted in the dash), but no wire looms? No grommets for drilled holes? no relay? Did you use an in-line fuse block at all? RIP your wires when you do off-roading.
    Dude... I cam here to see a good explanation of wiring to switches for off road lights, but I think this is a good example of what not to do. And that wires rats nest @ 3:00, man come on.... Not a clean install, not professional at all.

  • @thedonofthesouth
    @thedonofthesouth 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you have to use a relay switch anywhere?

    • @WalterMelons
      @WalterMelons 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Old comment but you should always use a relay.

      @@WalterMelonsThat's most likely why that old switch melted to the dash, that and no fuse.

    Not sure if ull see this.. but, can u run the 1st and third switch without without the turning on the 2nd?.. since the power wire is all connected to the same wire?

    • @AaronCates
      @AaronCates  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can run any switch with this setup, you can turn on any of them by theirselves or turn them all on, doesn’t matter.

    • @jonathanpassaro228
      @jonathanpassaro228 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes because it's constant. If the wires didn't touch and came off a different tab on the switch then you would have that problem.
