      @@hankkim6828 yes the only thing ESPN does good on their baseball broadcast is showing their 3-D strike zone graphic on close calls. All the ABS in the minor leagues only show 2 dimensions as the box which can make the wrong call if a breaking ball misses the front plane by millimeters but curves back into the zone

    This is why I can't stand baseball anymore. 90% of the time somebody argues a bad call they're correct. So on top of getting screwed by the umpire with the call they then get thrown out of the game for calling the umpire out on their stupidity. Then the manager argues that the umpire was wrong for throwing out their player and they get tossed too. It's absolutely ridiculous. The entire umpires Union should be dissolved and restarted with people who actually care about the game. Also balls and strikes should be called electronically. The fact that they allow umpires to be biased and call whatever they want is ridiculous.

    I umpired for a lot of years, was the head umpire for a smaller Southern Az town when I was 16. I did the assigning for three other umpires, lol. Did HS and some college. I also played through college, was a catcher. It looks to me like the guys who are umpiring HAVE NEVER PLAYED THE GAME! They have no feel for the strike zone. I admit I was a “hitter’s” ump, the pitch had to be a strike. But these guys give 4-6 inches ALL around the zone for the whining, prima-Donna, cry baby pitchers.

      The parameters never change in tennis as the lines are static. Until they change the strike zone parameters and make the strike zone a set box for everyone then ABS will never be able to adjust on-the-fly. A batter can literally change his strike zone with each pitch based on his stance. Maybe we should just replace the players with robots called by robots. Or better yet just have AI play the game in about two minutes and post the results. Problem solved.

    Not understanding the problem here being the umpire. Machado is, was, and will probably always be a punk. He’s one of the most unlikable players MLB has ever seen.
    And let’s go back to the original question…..was it a strike? Well, no, no it wasn’t. But it was over the plate, but likely a ball low. Machado didn’t like the call, and let the umpire know, both with his juvenile actions of slamming the bat, and a nasty stare and some unkind words. Justifies ejection in my book, any and every time. Would it have happened if it was a super likable, not usually argumentative player? Who knows? But Manny Machado has a history of random and not-so random acts of scumbaggery and doucheness. He’s built his reputation, he’s gotta live with the repercussions. And NO, you won’t change my mind.

    The player should be able to display their frustration.
    It’s a competitive sport and emotion can run high.
    If a call is that blatantly bad. The umpire should be held accountable higher than the player.

      @ModernCowboy78 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really because the majority of them have 95% accuracy they are never going to be perfect and that's what baseball is about. If we expected perfect then the best hitters wouldn't be hitting .330 would they.

    • @amorris1970
      @amorris1970 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ModernCowboy78 Yea right. Umpires this year are worse then any other year. So, according to you hitters can not hit strikes. Bad umpires ARE NOT how baseball is. They should not be umpires if theyre bad. Its that simple. I mean its the major leagues. They should be almost perfect. I dont know where you get 95%. Its more like 80% if not lower.

      @jsa790 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i don’t think there would be an immediate impact on jobs. robo umps would be for home plate, and you still need an ump at home plate making non-strike calls. also u need someone to relay the robo ump calls to the field.

    This is yet another example of what's ruining baseball. For all of you idiots that think it's no big deal missing a pitch here and there, you should use your brain and remember that every bad call causes the hitter to have to go forward not knowing if they will get a fair shake from these blind umpires. It expands the strike zone for the hitters dramatically, and it doesn't matter what the count is when it happens. It causes lower scoring games--in the many many games I've seen this year about 80-90% of the bad calls FAVOR THE PITCHER. It's so hard now to have a rally against even an average pitcher because the odds are so stacked against the hitters. Baseball is quickly becoming a total joke where most of the runs have to come from a combination of walks and home runs. Can MLB be that stupid? SPOILER ALERT: Stupiditiy is NOT a finite concept!!!!!
