The reason I like JavaScript is because it is Dynamically Typed.
I hope the JavaScript team soon makes inbuilt native type checks instead of using Typescript

bro dynamically typed becomes a nightmare as app grows, not saying it just for js but any dynamically typed language will eventually backfire at you when you have decent amount of modules interacting with each other

@@prakashreddy773 even on small projects, it just provides better autocompletion and developer experience so you can code more efficiently. Lets say you have function which expects user object with `firstName` property, with typescript, it won't let you pass user that has `name` instead of `firstName`.
So you can focus on bigger picture instead of carrying the "shape of data" in your head, which is often lot bigger than what i mentioned in example

@@chetan9533 Yeah bro, its true that for larger code base it surely becomes difficult as you dont know which variable is storing which type of data as the dynamically typed languages can change its type during the runTime and i am asking you whether have you experienced any such difficulties while creating ur personal projects.
and coming to the second thing i think the type script also allows if you pass name instead of the firstName
bcoz both becomes Strings and the firstName that you have told is just an arugument to the function or just a variable which can hold the String type of data , neither you can add Regular expressions on it filter out the firstName nor you can do any other thing.

​@@Mubashar783 Definitely I watched the whole video. I didn't click the video because of its thumbnail or title. I was completely noob a year ago. So I learnt something after I watched any video regarding Software Engineering.
Actually, today, I have noticed the title and thumbnail. It's a mismatch.
But the video is informative. You get to know why companies are adopting typescript and why you should learn it.
Also I was talking about series(playlist), not this particular video. He has been adding valuable videos in his playlist.

typescript is a good practice for frontend projects but it sucks sometimes consider the code
if (object.something) {
doSomething(object.something)
}
even after wrapping inside if statement it might say object.something can be undefined.
TS compiler should be intelligent enough to figure out that we have checked for falsy value

Hey Tanay. Amey here. Loved the video as usual. I'm an android developer who is learning angular so learning typescript too. I know typescript is a superset of javascript only with the type check included. Doubt is what if they didn't need to reinvent the wheel and name a new language called typescript, instead the type checking would have just been included as part of javascript ECMA? My guess is it might have been related to copy rights but wanted to know your perspective too. Thanks once again👍🏻

ES4 actually had native type systems and many other typescript features but it was later abandoned because of some reasons (I recommend you to research it yourself). But there is a TC39 proposal regarding adding typed comments to javascript which means javascript engines will interpret types as comments but lsp or code edditors can use it to improve developer experience. Basically no need to compile

I do agree TS might help but it's also true that it kills the freedom of Js. If I were to learn a statically typed language I would prefer to learn Java. It is far more consistent and robust than Js or TS.

I agree with DHH. TypeScript does take the joy of scripting away. That's the reason JavaScript is a scripting language not programming language because it adds one more level of abstraction above garbage collection and that is dynamic typing. The purpose of a scripting language is to make programs quickly without the intricacies of a programming language such as C or C++. And I agree that JavaScript was not designed keeping in mind the modern frontend development (How can it be, if it just took 10 days to pop out). And moreover presence of NO TYPES, GARBAGE COLLECTION, NO SEMI-COLON and ENCAPSULATION USING INDENTATION INSTEAD OF CURLY BRACES is the reason that Python took off on server side. And it is by far the "Best Scripting Language not the Best Programming Language".
