Fun fact: The Ratcatcher 2's portrayal to be always sleepy is actually an in-joke that's included in the movie because the actress who plays her, Daniela Melchior, often sleeps between takes. There's even a behind the scene video in TH-cam that shows Margot Robbie and Idris Elba made fun of her while she was sleeping during a shooting break.
Favorite members are easily Ratcatcher 2 and Polka-Dot Man. It helps that there's actually so much behind the scenes that went into their casting and the two of them and the actors behind them were so great (and were actually really good friends on set). Daniela Melchior, who played Ratcatcher 2, almost lost out four times - twice because she didn't send in an audition tape because she was nervous to do a full English feature, and when she did she simply read it off the script, and when they called her in for an in-person test despite the character being described as someone homeless her agent suggested she got all dolled up. They gave her one last shot, and that was the "rat test" - to see how actresses reacted to working with live rats. When they brought out the box of rats, she got all excited and immediately picked one up and let it start crawling all over her and they decided right then to cast her. The actress was also jokingly called "Napcatcher" on set because she frequently slept and took naps between takes just like her character (there's been a few videos posted of the other actors dancing around her while she slept). The part of Polka-Dot Man was written specifically for David Dastmalchian because he's friends with Gunn, but Gunn had no idea that David struggled with a lot of mental health issues including regular thoughts of suicide in the past. He also didn't know David had vitiligo that frequently got him bullied and harassed when he was young, called names like "Spot" and "Polka-Dot". David sent a long message to Gunn after he read the script telling him what he went through, and how he still struggles with self-doubt and feelings of failure and worthlessness, and he ended his message crying as he thanked Gunn for "making [him] a superhero."
Man, I was so bummed when they killed Polka-Dot Man. That whole last shot of him standing there I was going 'You're about to die, I've seen this in too many other movies, move, move! MOVE!' At least he went out happy though, and it was a nice touch that Ratcatcher 2 carries that shred of his costume all the way till the very end since she was the one who showed the most care for him earlier in the film.

Then again I went into this film with the expectation that Harley Quinn and only one other character would live, so I was surprised that four made it to the transport at the end on top of the two in the credits. My only hope is if they ever make another one with a new wacky villain like Killer Moth or Kite Man they better survive.

@@Me-rn4sp As much as I'd want him to be alive, his power set in this film was very different from the comics, throwing polka-dots seemed to be all he could do, aside from his name and costume he's mostly a completely different character. I think the reason James Gun didn't show his guts and blood is because as much as he likes to do that, I think he knew people would grow attached to his character, so it would've come off as overly harsh, a bloody shred of his costume and a red impact mark in the ground I think was more than enough to let us know he's dead. That and it was the third act, someone needed to die, sure I think King Shark or even Bloodsport could have instead, but it was smart to add tension.

Loved this movie, I'd say it's my favourite DC movie to date. Lots of heart, interesting characters and comedy. Loved Polka-Dot Man, was so sad to see him die - same for Cap Boomerang, totally agree that he was the best part of the first and I would have loved for him to continue on in later movies rather than get killed off. Ratcatcher 2 was my next favourite, so glad she didn't die in the end (I'm a sucker for quirky side characters) I'd be happy for another Suicide Squad in the same vein as this one, completely new, or close to completely new cast on a random adventure - speaking of which, Margo Robbie has said she wants a break from playing Harley, as its rather taxing (she also did a lot of her own stunts, including unlocking her chains with her feet!), so dropping the character for the next movie wouldn't be a bad thing. That Pacemaker tease at the end is for a series and not a movie, 6 or 8 episodes, forget which now
I really enjoy you two, this very rapidly became one of my favorite channels to watch. I had a ton of fun with this movie, I took my son to see it in the theater. Harley will always be my favorite, but they were all fun characters! The arc of bloodsport, and the quirkiness of the polka-dot man, Ratcatcher 2, and King Shark are definitely two of my new favorites as well. I was surprised and pleased that Ratcatcher 2 was sort if the glue of the 2nd team, her and bloodsport's connection and story added a lot of heart to the story. All in all much fun had! 😉

There were much better kills, but watching this group of badass villains ready for their mission and then the Weasel immediately drowns. I laughed hard out loud in the theatre. Not a movie, but a Peacemaker TV-show. And yes, John Cena will return and James Gunn is behind that show and has even directed most of the episodes. They had recently finished shooting it and I've heard it's gonna come out in January next year. Cena did such a great job as The Peacemaker, it's his best role so far as an actor, I believe he will make the show awesome! I loved all the characters, especially King Shark and Ratcather 2 & Sebastian the rat =) If they ever make another Suicide Squad movie, please, PLEASE let it be James Gunn making that movie also!

I've never seen any DC products. This thing is playing in the theater I work at and I'm looking into going to watch it for FREE and a little more Harley and Rat Lady might convince me to put a little over two hours of my time into it. What's surprising me the most is how many children are going to see this thing (with their parents) considering the language. I'm cool with it though.
Rooker and James Gunn are besties. His brother also appears in the same movies, as do a bunch of other actors and staff he works for. He is genuinely the nicest guy and everyone loves working with him. They missed an opportunity with King Shark trying various disguises. Anyone remember Undercover Elephant ? The Peacemaker TV show is also very funny.
This was by far my favorite DCEU movie(I don't include Nolan Trilogy who was grounded in reality where superpowers don't exist) and probably my favorite superhero movie period. It's nice to finally see a mainstream movie of this genre where throwing stuff at supersonic speed at people's head won't just make them pass out(looking at you Thor). Plenty of funny moments too.

Also really sad that Polka-Dot Man didnt make it at the end. I will say everyth's "perfect" except for one "plot hole"(i guess?) for Sol Soria n her Maltese Resistence. They were nowhere to be seen except for the killings in the room. They're doing it to regain freedom but we dont see much of them. But most importantly was Sir n Mdm predictions were correct. Both the Javelin n the Rats that killed Starro👍 This was a gory but fun movie to watch! Its great to see u both enjoyed this with all the laughters😊

Like, they know he killed 27 children, but they didn't know he couldn't swim and weren't sure whether he volunteered or not. When Polka Dot Man says his mother is "everywhere" and it shows him seeing the whole team as his Mom, Sebastian even has a tiny little rat-sized Mom face...... Also, the actor playing Mom did a lot of work, and her contribution to the film is overlooked easily. In the dance club scene, she did the dance moves in quite a few different outfits, and the videos were than composited into one scene of dozens of women dancing with Polka Dot Man while looking like Mom.....

I have never loved a sequel so much more than the original. The Harley Quinn "Rescue" scene was so well done. I never knew I needed flowers and birds during a slaughter until now. Her "I can go back inside and you can still do it" was so sincere.
This wouldn't rally be a sequel, because suicide squads are made of random criminals for missions with low chances of survival. So there might be multiple suicide squads operating at any given time, or a squad might be sent out to be a distraction, as the first team was in this movie. Waller doesn't care, as far as she is concerned they are all expendable.
Bloodsport was my favourite character, and Idris Elba is way better than Will Smith. Ratcatcher 2 comes a close second though because of her emotional story arc

Watching the animated shows and films helps even more, most notably Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Harley Quinn, Batman: Assault on Arkham and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay; those are M16 rifles, not machine guns
Little late to the party on this reaction (so cool how you nailed how they were going to defeat the monster) but just wanted to give the actor that Harley killed (Juan Diego Botto) a shout out. He was in a really cool show called Good Behavior. Only had 2 seasons 😢 He plays a hitman who gets thwarted by (and ends up teaming up with) a con artist/ thief (Michelle Dockery) trying to go straight and get her son back. Really entertaining characters, great dialogue and humor and some interesting darker themes. Cool trivia: for the first few episodes, he dislocated his right shoulder right before filming so he had to do everything left-handed and you don't even notice unless you're looking 😉
Horror is my number one! But it's great to see reactions to different genre's by the Mr and Mrs! Even better when both haven't seen the movie! Trivia Calendar Man and Weasel were both played by James Gunn's brother actor Sean Gunn. Weasel is mostly CGI I guess. But in an interview he said he Actually licked the glass in the Prison Scene! haha
This is a vast improvement over the first one in no small part to Mr. Gunn. He really know how to flesh out and make memorable characters. I really hope he comes back to do more DC films. Also, another fun thing to mention is that Michael Rooker has been one of his favorite actors to work with. You'll see him in pretty much most of his film in the past 12 years, such as Slither, with you two MUST WATCH. It's def right up your alley if you like gooey tentacle gore.
We have seen all the MCU. As of right now, we aren't planning on reacting to MCU on our channel. Kind of saving that for our own personal enjoyment times.

I was very sad to see Nathan Fillion go. Though I did suspect that Arm Fall Off Boy wouldn't last long. They set his power up to be something special and it really could've been. That's what makes the ultimate use of his arms so hilarious as he ineffectually slaps the guys in the head causing them minor irritation at most.

So either he survives but has no arms or far more likely they go and shoot him a few minutes later. Either way, no more TDK.

That's actually not what he said though. He said TDK was "definitely alive last time we saw him" which was the beginning of the movie when his arms were getting shot and he was screaming in agony. I'm going to throw an idea at you, see what you think. While the DCEU was still finding it's feet (aka not knowing what the crap they were doing) the Arrowverse on the CW was doing some amazing superhero TV on a microscopic budget compared to these films. DC films was always supposed to be the big thing so they only let Arrowverse use characters they weren't planning on using themselves. As a consequence Arrow beat them to the Suicide Squad. Sadly DC decided to use the characters in the movies and the TV versions were now off limits. But the TV versions still got a chance to shine ever so bright before they were extinguished. There's a Suicide Squad arc in the second season of Arrow. You don't need to know any backstory that isn't already shown in the episode. It's really well made and for a TV budget they made it look good. You don't necessarily need to do a reaction or anything. I just wanted to bring it to your attention. See what yet a third set of artists do with these characters. Spoiler there is no Harley Quinn. Partly because there's no Joker and partly because they were planning on using that character so they didn't want to get an image of who the character was into audiences heads before they could cast the role as that should be the definitive version. Except, arguably, that the animated version currently airing in HBO Max may be the closest version to a comic we'll ever get. If you like Harley you should check that out too. So much to do and so little time.

It showed why HQ is a not to be underestimated, but the first movie kind of stole that from her.

The first time I watched it I legitimately didnt ever notice milton in the whole movie until he died and I was so damn confused on who the hell they were talking about. Then I watched it again and noticed him lol

I've never seen any DC products. This thing is playing in the theater I work at and I'm looking into going to watch it for FREE and
a little more Harley and Rat Lady might convince me to put a little over two hours of my time into it.

Before this film, I would not have guessed that a line reading of the word "Bird." would make me break...
This was by far my favorite DCEU movie(I don't include Nolan Trilogy who was grounded in reality where superpowers don't exist) and probably my favorite superhero movie period. It's nice to finally see a mainstream movie of this genre where throwing stuff at supersonic speed at people's head won't just make them pass out(looking at you Thor). Plenty of funny moments too.
There was no need for clarification since Nolan Batman isn't even part of the DCEU. Then again, what the hell is these days?
If you like Gunn you need to watch his directorial debut 'Slither' one of my all time favorite comedy horrors, great way to kill an hour and half!!!

24:00 i was expecting "that's what she said" frm Mr Steve Carell but that will do too😆 Polka-Dot Man n The Ratcatcher 2 were my favourite characters. Her backstory made her the BEST character. Also really sad that Polka-Dot Man didnt make it at the end. I will say everyth's "perfect" except for one "plot hole"(i guess?) for Sol Soria n her Maltese Resistence. They were nowhere to be seen except for the killings in the room. They're doing it to regain freedom but we dont see much of them. But most importantly was Sir n Mdm predictions were correct. Both the Javelin n the Rats that killed Starro👍 This was a gory but fun movie to watch! Its great to see u both enjoyed this with all the laughters😊

When Polka Dot Man says his mother is "everywhere" and it shows him seeing the whole team as his Mom, Sebastian even has a tiny little rat-sized Mom face......
Also, the actor playing Mom did a lot of work, and her contribution to the film is overlooked easily. In the dance club scene, she did the dance moves in quite a few different outfits, and the videos were than composited into one scene of dozens of women dancing with Polka Dot Man while looking like Mom.....

My one nitpick is that Mongal shouldn't have died so easily, she can fight Superman so that explosion should have done almost nothing to her and the bald guy making fun of polkadot man is a batman villain

I have never loved a sequel so much more than the original. The Harley Quinn "Rescue" scene was so well done. I never knew I needed flowers and birds during a slaughter until now. Her "I can go back inside and you can still do it" was so sincere.
This wouldn't rally be a sequel, because suicide squads are made of random criminals for missions with low chances of survival.
So there might be multiple suicide squads operating at any given time, or a squad might be sent out to be a distraction, as the first team was in this movie. Waller doesn't care, as far as she is concerned they are all expendable.
Bloodsport was my favourite character, and Idris Elba is way better than Will Smith. Ratcatcher 2 comes a close second though because of her emotional story arc

One of my favorite films of the DCEU. I love that James Gunn included so many obscure characters, it was refreshing.
It seems like another random thing, but Harley threatening to kill Thinker if he has personalized license plates is actually a call-back to the first film. If you look closely, the Purple Lamborghini had personalized license plates. It's another Harley "Red Flag"......
You guys seems a little confused. Clint Eastwood's son played a minor character in Suicide Squad, but is not in The Suicide Squad.
I think you have him confused with Joel Kinnaman, who plays Rick Flag in both films.

Watching the animated shows and films helps even more, most notably Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Harley Quinn, Batman: Assault on Arkham and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay; those are M16 rifles, not machine guns

Little late to the party on this reaction (so cool how you nailed how they were going to defeat the monster) but just wanted to give the actor that Harley killed (Juan Diego Botto) a shout out.
He was in a really cool show called Good Behavior. Only had 2 seasons 😢 He plays a hitman who gets thwarted by (and ends up teaming up with) a con artist/ thief (Michelle Dockery) trying to go straight and get her son back. Really entertaining characters, great dialogue and humor and some interesting darker themes.
Cool trivia: for the first few episodes, he dislocated his right shoulder right before filming so he had to do everything left-handed and you don't even notice unless you're looking 😉
Of all the movies they have watched, her reactions and his reaction to her are the best.

Polka Dot man is one of Batman’s obscure villains like Condiment King.
Starro the conqueror was the first villain the Justice League fought in the comics.
If my father sent Superman to the ICU with one bullet - I will be hella mad and disappointed. I will also be hella impressed.

Trivia Calendar Man and Weasel were both played by James Gunn's brother actor Sean Gunn. Weasel is mostly CGI I guess. But in an interview he said he Actually licked the glass in the Prison Scene! haha

I quite enjoyed King Shark in this. I think if they made a sequel, and they likely will, I think they should have Condiment King.
This is a vast improvement over the first one in no small part to Mr. Gunn. He really know how to flesh out and make memorable characters. I really hope he comes back to do more DC films.
Also, another fun thing to mention is that Michael Rooker has been one of his favorite actors to work with. You'll see him in pretty much most of his film in the past 12 years, such as Slither, with you two MUST WATCH. It's def right up your alley if you like gooey tentacle gore.

We have seen all the MCU. As of right now, we aren't planning on reacting to MCU on our channel. Kind of saving that for our own personal enjoyment times.

I was very sad to see Nathan Fillion go. Though I did suspect that Arm Fall Off Boy wouldn't last long. They set his power up to be something special and it really could've been. That's what makes the ultimate use of his arms so hilarious as he ineffectually slaps the guys in the head causing them minor irritation at most.
If you pay attention to the life monitors, TDK lived.
@@nyghtmoon Assuming that wasn't just a continuity mistake it only means he was alive at that moment. They weren't shooting directly at him, they were destroying his arms. Can't do much without them. So either he survives but has no arms or far more likely they go and shoot him a few minutes later. Either way, no more TDK.

That's actually not what he said though. He said TDK was "definitely alive last time we saw him" which was the beginning of the movie when his arms were getting shot and he was screaming in agony. The only character we actually saw leaving the beach was Weasel.
True, but majority of the pool of suicide squad inmates would be people with feeble powers, and used bt Waller as fodder.
I'm going to throw an idea at you, see what you think. While the DCEU was still finding it's feet (aka not knowing what the crap they were doing) the Arrowverse on the CW was doing some amazing superhero TV on a microscopic budget compared to these films. DC films was always supposed to be the big thing so they only let Arrowverse use characters they weren't planning on using themselves. As a consequence Arrow beat them to the Suicide Squad. Sadly DC decided to use the characters in the movies and the TV versions were now off limits. But the TV versions still got a chance to shine ever so bright before they were extinguished. There's a Suicide Squad arc in the second season of Arrow. You don't need to know any backstory that isn't already shown in the episode. It's really well made and for a TV budget they made it look good. You don't necessarily need to do a reaction or anything. I just wanted to bring it to your attention. See what yet a third set of artists do with these characters. Spoiler there is no Harley Quinn. Partly because there's no Joker and partly because they were planning on using that character so they didn't want to get an image of who the character was into audiences heads before they could cast the role as that should be the definitive version. Except, arguably, that the animated version currently airing in HBO Max may be the closest version to a comic we'll ever get. If you like Harley you should check that out too. So much to do and so little time.
I didn't see Suicide Squad, but I did see "Birds of Prey", Harley is my favorite, then King Shark, and then Polka Dot man, then Weasel. I liked that they made Starro (Starfish) from the comics the villain, I didn't expect that.
