  • It's the last week in March and the waters are beginning to come back to life. Schools of bait are moving in. Speckled Trout are on their ways out of the creeks as Red Drum begin to migrate back in. Water temps have reached the low to mid 60's and it's provided some awesome early Spring topwater action. Enjoy. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe if you haven't already. Tight Lines everyone
Rod/Reel: Fenwick HMG 7MH w/ Penn Clash 3000 spooled with 15lb Power Pro Blue Braid.
Lure: Chartreus skitter walk and an Olive Rip Stop9 (4-6' runner)

very nice, How often do you use jig heads and soft plastics

Not often. It’s the weakest part of my game. I have been trying to incorporate more of it especially in the winter time. I did it bass fishing all of the time with zero issues but just hasn’t transferred into saltwater fishing.

Love the channel. I’m a new subscriber. Where do you primarily fish? I like the Topsail area. Gonna try Morehead City in a couple weeks. Enjoying the videos! Keep them coming.

Appreciate the compliment. Those JVX 18 are perfect for here. I’ve got my $ worth out of it.

@@SlackTidesFishing I notice your trolling motor is never in the water and I think I see some kind of push pole buried in the bottom with a rope attached. Does that work well for you? Don't you like the trolling motor?

I absolutely hate that trolling motor with a passion. It has the remote that you have to click directional buttons any time you want to move. In the process of upgrading to spot lock.

@@SlackTidesFishing Completely understand. I did not like the one that came with my boat either so I upgraded to the Minn Kota Terrova. It has spot lock and auto navigation. I typically will point it in a direction and put the Nav button on. Then every now and then, or when I catch a fish, put the spot lock on. Works well for me

Why are the fish in your Livewell dead?

Sometimes if I take them home, I don’t let the aerator continuously run.

Check out any creek mouth dumping into the Neuse. Trout are moving out and drum are moving in.
