Great video guys. The type of baits I use depends of the bottom of the venue fishing. If soft weedy pop-ups on a choddy. If the bottom is hard and clean bottom baits
Normally I use an ESP Gripper size 4 (wide gap pattern). I have been testing out the ESP chod hammers which have been producing really good hook holds.
@@dannylong8382 the original D Rig wasn't made with a chod hook as they hadn't been developed. The original was made with 20lb Amnesia and a Drennan Continental.
TBH , I think it really makes a difference where the fish are. By this I mean, I am in the USA and so the conditions are a lot different. In the USA I think there are plenty of places that would not matter , however, In the UK or France or whatever I think the pop ups better catch more or else it makes you all look silly. ha ha. The truth is , I am ready to find out.
Pop ups do well on runs waters in my opinion like the lake in the video but for me wafters are much better option. Pop ups are just way to obvious for my liking unless In weedy lakes. Good video though lads 👍 AFTER WATCHING: one problem with the bottom baits was your fishing for small fish with huge bottom baits almost the size of there heads 🤣

Thanks. That's normally the best way, we just tried it for a bit of fun 👍
Great stuff guys! interesting little experiment too! enjoyed that :)
Cheers mate 👍
I fish 3 rods use different setups on all till I get a fish then change to that method am I doing the right thing?
There's no right or wrong way, if it works for you then keep going 👍
@@TheFishingBloggers cheers lads 🎣🏴👊
Good video lads. Excellent photography 👍🐳🐟🦈
Thank you 😁
Bottom baits for me, but it also depends on what the bottom of the water is like, heavy weed maybe a pop up , clear surface def bottom baits.
Definitely depends on the fishing situation.
On the d rig ? Do you use in turned eye or chod style hook ?

@@TheFishingBloggers yer because originally it was used with a chod type hook , but a lot of people are using wide gape types

@@TheFishingBloggers be gracious in defeat, ha ha
It’s not a bottom bait with a pop up on tho is it my friend
It's more bottom that pop 🤣
only use popups on chod rigs
They can be deadly on some venues 🔥
Bottom bait

🤣🤣🤣 Gobstoppers 👌
This is pointless! It all depends on the bottom you are fishing over. There’s no “best”
That's a fair point 👍
