Damn I feel really really bad for the person who’s parents are polyam. I also have huge issues w privacy and my parents not respecting my boundaries. I actually had to move my dorm mid way thro the semester bc I had this issue of my roomates bringing home so many people to party.

I live with my mom and my brother in an old house with thin walls. My brother recently has been having his "girlfriend" over and they are having sex in our house. I have always gotten a room in the past, and I think any reasonable person would. I told my mom and she said "well people have sex." I said sure, but I don't want it around me. My whole family sucks lol, so I feel bad for that person too, having to live in a house full of degenerates.
Its just very sad that their mom's priority is the random people she's dating, and not her children that she is supposed to be raising.

Tbh trauma bonding doesn't even mean what everyone thinks it means, it's not about bonding over sharing trauma. A trauma bond is formed between a person who has been traumatized and the person who caused their trauma.
I live next to a cemetery and when I was 5 or 6 me and my siblings found a real human scull in a trash pile we used to roam through to find bugs. Definitely mishandled by the gravers. I didn't want to touch it, but my brother brought it INSIDE OUR HOUSE to show our mom because she didn't believe us (she thought my brother had fooled me and my sis as he often did)
My mom has never forgotten and in hindsight we probably should've told someone but the graver hated my mom because she'd been a carer for her daughter in the youth club and had told the graver that her daugther was being sexually harrased at the local Inn everytime she picked up her drunk dad (which was often) The graver took this not as my mom looking out for her daughter but as my mom criticising her, and to this day still hates us (yes me my siblings and dad included)

Do people use trauma bonded to describe just talking to each other about traumatic things? I thought it meant going through something traumatic with someone else and feeling like they’re the only person who will really understand what happened, so you bond with them.
Trauma bond as a definition is always a negative, it describes “bonds” formed by abusers and victims usually. Somehow thru modern internet speak it’s been bastardized into describing people just opening up or sharing with each other though. Which is crazy bc it’s the exact opposite of what that term actually means. Example is people in an abusive relationship not feeling like they can leave or break that “trauma bond” they formed with their abuser

For the story that Alena read, around 11:42, I have been in a relationship where we ended it pretty quickly and both felt we weren’t mature enough afterwards. Turns out 3 years later, after staying friends, we’ve been back together and are now so judgy of our past selves and happy we waited!! You shouldn’t torture yourself too much though, if you can at least remain friends at least that’s great to keep them in your life, if you feel like you can’t risk being crushed if they move on, you have to move on first
