    New York's hottest new video from 2002 is Cosmopolitan Blood Loss, by Long Island music group, GlassJAw. This video has everything. Creepy indie actors walking with purposeful gaits, stylish young people playing music instruments who mostly face away from the camera filiming them, tailored suits, a transcendent bridge, and an awkward ending.

    My dad absolutely loved this band. He passed away in 2022... Life has been an extreme struggle since his death. We're currently in a process of losing the home he bought that we grew up in. It's heartbreaking, having to let go of the sentiments. There's nothing to do at this point but let go, and trust that the other side will be just fine. Love you dad. Sorry we couldn't save the house.

    I had a “vans warped tour ‘03” I believe it was, with this on it. I’ve always been a heavy heavy metal guy, but this song always stayed with me. As a former metal singer, it’s easy to appreciate this guy’s raw vocals. Anyone who talkin smack about his voice, obviously never consistently sang into a live mic. He’s good..

      No, a lot do. Their first album was a masterpiece of anger and hatred. After that, they became soft and started making mainstream sounding music and even apologized for their first album.

    • @levisorenson7873
      @levisorenson7873 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @James-if3kc That album excellently captures a moment in time when someone had suffered physically and psychologically at a fairly young age, and dumped it out in a very raw, unfiltered way. I can imagine it was pretty cathartic.
      However, I wouldn't expect or want for him to continue carrying that kind of energy around with him for the rest of his career.
      It's a great work of expressive art and music and I don't think they should be ashamed of it. But if he feels remorse for some of the things he said, it's not my place to tell him he shouldn't apologize for it.
      It's still my favorite album from them, but I'm not surprised they never put anything out like that again. I appreciate it for what it is, but I'm glad he's not carrying that pain and anger around with him two decades later.

      +Felipe Chaves Thank You! I never knew the genre. Any other post hardcore bands I would dig? As much as I am back into playing music, I really don't listen to that much. I'm the kind of guy who obsesses over one band for years on end. Right now I'm "gay" for anything Josh Homme and I need a new band before I get sick of him. He inspires my playing more than anyone...except maybe Omar's approach to playing. I want to start a grungy psychedelic band so bad! haha

    • @felipechaves6100
      @felipechaves6100 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Scruffy Basterd Grunge pyschedelic just reminds me of "Title Fight - head in the ceeling fan", La dispute is also a great post hardcore band (even though these bands are more recent so they sound a little different, but def are influenced by ATDI and GJ). Pianos become the teeth - I'll be damned is also a great post hardcore song. Then i'd put The sound of animals fighting, Dance gavin Dance and Circa Survive (they're bring more things to the mix). Yeah man Josh Homme is pretty sick, the last QOTSA is awesome!

      Agreed 100%! In mid-1990s when LIHC really started to blow up, there was the PWAC, Outer Limits, the Roxy lol, Right Track Inn, the Angle, VFW medford, Out East Barn & Garage shows, 90.1 Stony Brook radio (Riptide), Northport Pipeline skate park, and a few more venues were the usuals for LIHC in the mid-1990s! My band (Grid) played with Glassjaw, Tripface, Silent Majority, Vision of Disorder, Mind over Matter, Neglect, Warped Weeble Wobbles, Berzerkers, Loyal to None and so many other great bands (not forgetting anyone on purpose)... Good stuff!

In a book I have it's stated that Nate from Finch took vocal inspiration (and even actual vocal lessons/tips) from Daryl... And you can see here that he also took inspiration for the way he moves on stage. Mad love for both bands ❤️
