    Thank you for making and sharing this video! I may have to do the same thing to a 1974 Camaro TH350 transmission.

    just a suggestion sir.... if you decide to add electric components that will keep your engine alive i would replace the wire harness first before any major update to engine and driveline....
    the old wiring is just that.... old.... brittle.... old....
    a new harness can be had that include wiring for fans and fuel injection and such very reasonable ...

    Happy ending. Very cool.
    Thanks for the info. I have a th350 out of my 77 Camaro and was setting it up for dirt track racing and was wondering if I needed the governor gear assembly at all. I run short track and manually shift, also most short tracks I just run in first gear all the way around with a 3.95 posi rear end. But I think I'll keep it since having all 3 gears is a plus. lol
    Rock on.
    PS I eliminated the passing gear BS. 3/8 NPT tap and a 3/8 NPT pipe plug. No need for that in race mode.

    77 k10. 383 and a th350. It’ll shift out sometimes, and sometimes it’ll run first out and won’t shift. I can put it in reverse/park and SOMETIMES it’ll start shifting right at low RPM. Any chance this could be the problem?

      It is a possibility. That or vacuum modulator or vacuum issues. I recommend calling a transmission shop and let them know what your issues are. That’s how I figured it out. Just went through the process of elimination. Hey thanks a bunch for watching. Please subscribe if you haven’t already

    Did you have to get the broke piece out of the trans ? If so what's the easiest way ?

    I just rebuilt mine thinking second gear went out.😢. Wave plate for second gear was snapped in two. But still won't shift. Then looked at the governor......and the gear Is completely worn down and isn't catching the shaft.

    Will this work on automatic transmission. C10 72 will shift into gears but won’t engage

      What do you mean by “will shift into gears but won’t engage”?

      @@HartRockGarage I he meant that he can shift the gears but it won't go once its in any gear do you have any suggestions

    • @HartRockGarage
      @HartRockGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marvinquarterman3201 sounds like it’s out of fluid or the transmission is bad. If you are saying it is in gear but never moves

    Mine is shifting into 2 but not 3rd and dosnt go into reverse. Could this be a gov issue? I did already replace the modulator.

    Was this problem only in drive? Could you manually shift it?

    • @HartRockGarage
      @HartRockGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it only had first gear before the governor replacement. I tried shifting it manually thinking maybe it was a vacuum issue but no luck. So check out classic transmission solutions for any parts and questions you have or need. They are great. Tell them Cody @ HartRock Garage sent you. Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
