Idea for foam support: put the battery in where tou want it, then, put a plastic bag (retail bad like Target or Walmart) and use expanding spray foam inside the bag. Might be a little messy but you could tape things off.
Thermal paste good idea. Without the paste I saw 20-30F lower temps compared to without heat sink on 48V razor th-cam.com/video/jizGMurwUSU/w-d-xo.html
@@GuamanianHarmonLoop what's that suppose to mean. All heat sinks need thermal paste to work efficiently ask more experts lol because apparently you're not one.
Totally should put two of those in parallel. 60 continuous amps and 20ah is a great upgrade and leaves you the ability to use and gain benefits from a programable controller like a kelly, fardriver, or vesc. Also, consider upgrading to a surron seat. Far more comfortable and a cheap upgrade to the horrible stock mototec seat
Question for ya my some has same bike but we need more than 15 miles range. Ya think I can do the same thing with a 48v 20ah battery to increase its range? Not really worried about the speed just want to increase range and keep reliability
Hey Mr. Rich been watching your vids for some time now when I had my upgraded razor. I just traded it for a mototec 48v its already upgraded but there seems to be some kind of clicking noise around the motor. I lubed and tightened the chain and loosened the chain but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas or experience?

Hey Rich I have a question off topic of this bike, I have the new G100 from Happyrun, excellent bike, dual battery, it's a 48 volt battery system, 28 amp controller, 1000/2000 peak motor, but it's soo heavy over 100 lbs, my question is if I swap out a controller with like a 35 or more amps will it hurt my 48v batteries? It probably won't be much faster, but maybe quicker off the line? Any suggestions would be great. Don't think I want to put a 52 volt battery system in it right now at least.
@BRichSolution is there a type of controller that you can suggest Rich? A name brand or amperage suggestion, I'm not too good on the electrical side of things I don't want to mess it up if I buy one
Hi rich could you show me or tell me the diagram to connect my yolin dual motor battery controller. I took it apart to change the controller for the same controller as I brought a spare but it's not quite the same. I need to know where some of the connections go
I can, but not close to my bike for a few days. In the meantime see video you yolin controller for connections th-cam.com/video/K2F6v6s4yzA/w-d-xo.html
Hi there we just did the same exact battery swap you did for the same bike and the bike ran alot faster just like yours now its dead and doesnt seem to want to charge. When the charger is plugged in the bike lights up and ahows a full charge but when you unplug it you can watch the battery meter slowly dim out. Any suggestions?
Check the battery voltage with voltmeter if it measures 54-55v fully charged then the battery is good and most likey the controller got fried. Buy the 48v controller from Motortec and 1600w motor
@@BRichSolution it's a good video, and one of the only mototec modification videos of its short on TH-cam how is the bike handling the upgrade so far ? I see it's only been about a month.

Hey, Love your videos. I've been watching since you uploaded the 2 alibaba bikes. I'm glad i waited to order a long range ebike until now. I ordered the Wallke h9 (60ah version) I would love to see some content from you on their bikes. Just throwing it out there. I'd appreciate your review on them.
Thanks for the feedback. The Wallke H9 is folding ebike and I am not big fan of the design as most are hard to fold and frame os over designed for the hinge which makes them heavy

That heat sink is not going to do much without you adding thermal paste to transfer the heat to the sink. Always use thermal paste with heat sinks.

Side note. Forgot the thermal paste brotha. But there is a dedicated heatsink for that style motor. We use them on our crazy carts

Kugoo

So the frame size for the 36w and 48w are the same? Wonder if I could upgrade the motor from 1000 to the 1600
Yes same frame for 1000w vs 1600w except larger tires 14” front and 12” on 16000w. 1600w motor controller is plug and play
Great video!
Thanks

Yes 48v 20ah battery will get you there especially if you turn down torque or amp dial

is there a speed limit wire i can cut? if there is what color is it and how fast would it go if i cut it.
Not on motortech use the dials in front of the seat to max the speed and torque settings
What would you think about going with a 48v/ 14ah or even the 20ah? Why not ya know?
20ah will work, i did not buy 20Ah as it was not available at the time of purchase

48v into 500w motor could work since Mototec makes a 48v 500w tricycle

Yes by 1-3 mph

what charger do you use now?
