I think we’ve seen the last of this type of ‘character’ - Vale is an absolute legend, an ambassador for the sport. MOTOGP is going the way of F1 now - the riders are robots, PR is king and characters aren’t required. I just cannot see anyone coming up through the ranks who inspires so many people. Some try to copy but Vale will always be the best - he’s the whole package. I’m just glad he’s got to retire in one piece and with his health. Best of luck to him - it won’t be the same without him.

i started to watch motogp because of rosi. he is fun filled sports man no one can replace him. he is the humblest rider i have ever seen.most of the riders come from trained classes and acts as robots.but rosi is different. he has the born tallent. great guy. we all miss him.

The passion he has for two wheels and other hobbies is inspirational. When I seen vale racing in 96…I was inspired to see him accomplish things at young age. His career will forever be unmatched. Vale forever!!!

I can’t begin to say what millions all around the world will be feeling at the end of this amazing mans career.I can remember him at the very beginning and there was just something about him that made me say he’s going to be World Champion one day. His big smile, his down to earth approach to life, his willingness to pass his knowledge onto others and just his eagerness to please his fans. Wow greatest of all time indeed.

He is the only one that went from 2 stroke 125cc, 250cc and 500cc, then motogp 4 stroke 1000 cc then 800cc then 1000cc so many rivals, Capirosi, Roberts, Barros, Biaggi, Gibernau, Stoner, Hayden, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Marquez, Dovisiozo, Quartararo.
He has seen it all, and won trough it all. He has not been in the best place the last two years, so sadly it is time, but there will never be one like him.
Marquez is a sad shadow of the rider he once was, falling in six of his last ten races.
