You are a Buddhist is because you have the affinity with Buddha, simple as that. I am a Buddhist and I pray mostly to Averlokitesvara Buddha. Most of the Buddhist temples pray to Gutama Buddha,, slso known as teacher of the world. Gutama Buddha was a Bodhisattva, he voluntarily reborn into the suffering world to save sentient beings Buddhas are above all Godly Beings. Gods are in the rebirth cycle realm. Buddhas realm are in the non-rebirth realm. Only very good lucky people have affinity with Buddhas. May Buddha bless you. .
