    I enjoyed this, but a few nits.
    - The tips were useful, as was the reminder to revisit my behavior. I am sure I have been through this type of thinking, but one often loses focus over time, slipping into bad habits
    - It reminded me that my mentoring can be a bit too directive, but I face two issues that make directing others sometimes necessary. On one level, it is the mentee's ability. Do they have the abstractions and experience to understand my thoughts? Sometimes yes, but it often becomes a mix of questions, to get them to think, but then also answering or confirming their thoughts. The other is more concrete, time pressure. Even with longer projects, there are commitments to delivery, and less because of concerns about my reputation but the stress of late delivery might cause the mentee.
    - Weasel words. In one area, he mentions avoiding weasel words, but later suggests that weasel-ly speech is necessary to avoid blame. Sure, you can be blunt in one instance and indirect in the other, but I usually attribute both to kindness and the avoidance of blowback. Both can create negative feelings that harm the relationship. Certainly, a judgment call.

    Well the managers story telling session... the very last one is nice for sure. If you disagree with the course you work is heading, you just suck it up and do it anyway because... you are the only one who can do it, you have the passion. Corporate BS 101.

    You can write anything you want in your performance review, as long as you keep working 2000 hours a year. I would not complain but just refuse to write them.

    Starts the talk by stating that "people have more experience with teaching" and then proceeds to equate "teaching" with "telling people the solution to the question". Clearly the speaker could use some experience in teaching.
