i don't think you got scammed cuz the manual hasn't said made in california and when you opened the phone it says hello but it has battery and clock into the left it shouldn't be there if its brandnew tho, maybe its resealed because people cans resealed iphone's (im not hating you or judging you im just saying huhu) the box and the phone is resealed and ain't brand-new
