Join me around my home city of London as I breakdown some of my favourite areas to shoot street photography. Enjoy! Directed by Biz Thompson. Illustration by Gaida Almehaid.
This is the most refreshing photography content on TH-cam. No gear focus no "five easy tricks". Just following a really good photographer doing his thing.
100% Agree AND no shouting and waving around like a crazy bird with broken wings. I Love these brittish photographers/TH-camrs (Alan, Photographic Eye end Courtney Victoria amongst others). :D
Respect to Alan for being himself. Not even trying to be serious. Just goofing around and having a good time. Keep em coming! These videos are truly enjoyable to watch and inspiring at the same time.
Amidst a world creators who all try to mimic what everyone else is doing, this has a gritty, real, and genuinely humorous style to it that makes it its own thing! A favorite new channel! I’ll be waiting with bated breath for the next one! 😊
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how warm and fuzzy these videos make you feel? Great content delivered by an extremely knowledgeable photographer in a charming, often funny and endearing way. Keep it up.
This is becoming my favourite photography youtube channel. Even though I'm going for a different style in my own photography, I really enjoy seeing someone with this level of skill do their thing.
So refreshing to see someone just having fun doing street photography on TH-cam instead of being so serious all the time but still giving fantastic advice and tips, keep up the great work Alan and looking forward to seeing more from your channel and smiling along with them.
So pleased i came across this on TH-cam. AMAZING pictures, I've picked up a few tips from you. When i go London doing photography, i walk between 12 to 16 miles.
I’ve watched you from the first video, I’m sorry I’d never heard of you before, but you’re my new favourite photographer. Your approach your humour and the way you explain your technique is so fresh. Please keep it up as you are inspiring. Top fucking draw my friend
Thanks for putting in the work and making these videos. I've owned a camera for 6 months now, and your work has really helped me dissect how to capture the kinds of things i want to see in my own shots.
Your videos are great! As a hobbyist who started out in the early 80's shooting B&W film, I find your B&W photographic art and your approach very refreshing and certainly inspiring. And, had you not started this channel, I doubt I would've known who you are, so please keep doing what you're doing!
I’m super glad to have discovered your channel at this period of time! I’ve been shooting street for the past couple years and have gotten somewhat okay at it. Watching how much fun you’re having on the streets kind of reminds me to not take it so seriously. So thanks for that ✌🏼
I appreciate these videos so much! Why? They are short, on point, and I love your humorous way of presenting the technical facts and figures. How much joy watching your videos, Alan. Keep on going. Can´t wait for the next one... 🙂
Huge fan of your work, which never fails to inspire. Thanks for letting us in on some of your craft secrets. I find these videos incredibly insightful and inspiring.

It's about time Alan has his own TH-cam channel! Really refreshing to see a true master of the craft at work, none of that sensationalist click bait rubbish. Also, the editing reminds me of mid-2000s British TV lmao
Definitely one of the most refreshing approaches to „photography” youtube in a long time. With the addition of great personality and natural humour, it just leaves me sitting in awe wanting more!
These videos are brilliant. I;m so pleased that you don't take all of this too seriously (that's not a comment on the quality or ambition of your work!). Great stuff, Alan. Thanks for inspiring me and making me laugh.
There are so many useful tips here and being able to see things as you see them is the best way to open up our perception of life on the street. Thanks Alan !
I always suspected that one could be a serious artist and a goofball simultaneously, and now we have the visual proof. Thanks so much for doing these. Not just entertaining but they provide true insight into the process and locations. A real treat and great record for posterity.

Great video. I love that you say how many kilometres you work and that there are times when you walk a few hours and didn’t take a single picture. I love that “slow photography” style.

I absolutely love your black and white street photography and am intent on learning as much as I can from you, especially camera settings, compensation, and general tips and tricks. Good luck Alan.
