Fuck yes, Andrew. It totally does suck here... But it can be better with people like Eliot and Andrew representing us. We need more bike advocacy at city council meetings and in the political landscape! We are losing bike access almost every year to development and the residents of the new development wanting local trails to themselves. Plus we really need to get inner city kids out on the trails. As much as I love my childhood at the skateparks, it really just becomes an incubator for ditching school/responsibilities and drugs and alcohol. But riding to the trails from the inner cities can be INSANELY dangerous. For obvious reasons, in LA. A program that shuttles kids out to trails to learn MTBing would be the best thing LA needs now.
Couldn't agree more. Lived in Burbank and I ALWAYS thought about why those mountains (Verdugo Mountains) can't have a real 15-20 mile single track and machine cut looped trail system between Glendale and Burbank for all to enjoy? Some really good dirt and proper chunk up there that can rival the stuff in Pasadena/Alta Dena Angeles Forest area. Heck if Griffith park had something similar to what I have here in Northwest Arkansas, machine cut and hand cut, then it would be REALLY RAD!
Every year I specifically move to Corado from April to October for MTB. Everytime I leave and go back to L.A. I get all sad and miss the CO mountains so much. I just can't stay here on winter because I have to keep biking.
@@mtbarber83 For what it's worth, you're absolutely doing life the right way. I'm already glancing longingly at my bike, unmotivated to ride in between the trails aka sand and overall heat.

LA is horrible for biking!!! People need to stop coming here to bike and leave the trails empty! 😉. Shhhhhh stop telling people you can drive 30mins in almost any direction and find trails.
Most of the trails that I see them riding in this video is around the Elysian Park Trail and Frog Town trail near Dodger stadium that LA needs to severely update and make it better, longer and more sustainable. I'm sure they won't because when I rode that over 10 years ago there were a lot of homeless people in some sections.
@@mr2_mike kinda nailed it..... I think there's plenty of room there for some RAD singletrack that can be MTB specifically in between the old LA ZOO area, Merry go round, "Glendale Peak" and the GP Railroad station. I'd say a hub type system with like 6 different runs down ranging from white to black with do not enter signs at the bottom of those trails. It can be done but California and the political red tape 😒 smh. I'm glad and fortunate I live in Northwest Arkansas now.
Yeah. Seems like there should be a guide to what trails were seen in this video. I live on the lip of Elysian and it seems mostly shot there. I also agree that we need designates trails or times of day that favor riders. Or at least signage that shows mixed use since there are so few dedicated routes. I’ve also been loving my “urban” riding. Hitting the streets and alleyways of La La Land like an obstacle course.
@@TheJeffreyAbramson I knew immediately as soon as I saw that it was the freeway right next to it. There's also a video of Hans Rey, Missy Giove riding with Timmy from RATM on same stuff at times in that video. th-cam.com/video/9iUQ3dQJhC8/w-d-xo.html
Where are all of the “average “ cyclists that ride Canyon? I would love to see even a 2 minute video produced that showcases average owners of Canyon bikes. How can we relate to a pro skier/stuntman/actor, a mountain biker who’s dad is a pro cyclist, and an ex-bmx rider? I own a Canyon and I cannot.
LA mayor is old fashioned and lives in the past. The city plugs it’s ears and tells itself, “maybe bikes will go away, maybe bikes will go away.” Bikes aren’t going away. Wake up.

this is dope. wish it were a proper length documentary, hint hint.

I think I saw this premier at Sedona MTB festival?
Shhhh, don't give away our secrets or L.A. might get crowded!

I think you nailed it.
Anything around the observatory is too filled with people "hiking" and you'd risk an accident.

Admittedly I live in Canada, close to mtn ranges. Some wicked bike communities around here.

They clearly don't need you to relate if you bought the bike anyway
I have same feeling. I'd like to see average persons thoughts, not a pro.
How can we relate? Ummm, could it be bikes maybe???

Come to India... Best place for riding
It actually does look shit..
Cause they filmed a lot of it in a park near downtown, all the good stuff is in the mountains just outside town
Looks goofy trying to whip on every 1ft’r. Suck those up and bomb the run.
Is this a documentary or something? They just set the stage and characters and then?… Let’s hear about the trails….
i love canyon and fabio wibmer

someone said trek bikes are better get out of here canyon is the best
Welps carbon quality, service and warranty does make Trek a better brand but canyon does make beautiful looking bikes!
