Last year in March, when Russian troops were still trying to capture Kyiv, utilities were working 24/7. We are sitting in the corridor during the air siren, Russians are firing artillery on the outskirts of the capital. There was some kind of rumble under our windows, we were afraid that a rocket had come not far. And it was a garbage truck at 12 o'clock at night, the containers are emptied. 12 at night, siren, rockets fire, but garbage, damn it, must be taken out. It's crazy. I love my city ❤

I still see this happen quite a lot 😂 Trash is being taken, no matter if it's air-raid sirens or it's after midnight. On one memorable occasion, about a month ago or so, missiles were flying above and we heard a few explosions - people manning the truck payed no attention to that and carried on, driving towards the sound afterwards just `cause their next location was there.

Ukrainian cities are super clean. I didn’t value that before the war. I have been living in Germany after the war started and I am still very much annoyed with lots of trash on the streets, pieces of paper, chewing gums, cigarettes. You won’t see that in Ukraine. I don’t understand why people are littering their home.

Unfortunately, Kyiv has not little places with garbage on the streets, but comparing with New York, we have much more cleaner city. I`ve been in New York and can say, it was terrible how many plastic, papers and other stuff there is on the streets. I think difference between these 2 cities is migrants. We love and safe our streets, city, country unlike migrants in USA, who mostly don`t respect your country, culture and traditions.
