It’s the one person who would make you a better person.” Dean would stop talking to lightly run his hand through his hair. By this time, Cas would’ve already had a chair pulled out with himself sitting in it, just listening to Dean with complete adoration in his eyes, listening to each and every word carefully. Dean: “actually. No, no. They don’t make you a better person, you would do that yourself.” Now, Cas would think it’s time for a question, so without missing a beat, Cas would ask, “Why?” Dean would now be looking up at Cas, not even realizing the look in his eyes, because Dean is too caught up trying to think of the perfect explanation. Dean would let out a somewhat stifled laugh once he finally found the answer. Dean: “why? Oh yeah- why... Because Cas, they would uh- well they would inspire you. A soulmate is someone you’d want to carry with you forever” Deans expression would by this time harden into something more serious. Not the you better come with me unless you want to die kind of serious, the soft kind, the one that says you are really important. He would scrunch up his eyes, but still retain eye contact with Castiel. Dean: “They’re the one person who-.. who knew you, and accepted you, for whatever god forsaken thing you’d done, or ever will do. And believed in you before anyone else did.” Deans expression would soften, seeing Cas’s adorable smile, and his interested look, that Dean wouldn’t help but mimic the same expression.
