Thank you for this. Very helpful. One small suggestion is that the orientation of the faces is inverted. Adding a solidify modifier will fix this. Thanks again.
I only rendered with solid colors and never paid attention to the face orientation. Thanks for pointing that out. There’s no need for another modifier, just flip the Map Range output values for the extrusion, after the mesh generation in the node tree. That fixes it. 😉
Thanks. Flipping the map range also flips the orientation of the text. Also, the orientation of the faces is still inverted. I'm using a node solidify geonode and seems to work. @@ilirbeqiri
@@garrysalisbury211 I'm now in front of the computer testing this, and you're right. Flipping the map range affects the tapering step, so instead of the bottom faces, the front ones are scaled to zero. But are two simpler solutions. You can flip the polygon faces right after the Curve to Mesh node, before joining geometry with the front face. Or you could reverse the text curves before the Curve to Mesh step. Either one would work better than the Solidify modifier, because that one more than doubles the geometry. PS: Even better, just flip the inputs of the Curve to Mesh node. I should have done this in the first place. 😉
blow my mind!!! How do you know pretty deeping knowledge about geometry nodes. it's insane!!!! PLEASE recommend us any book when start to learn! Obviously, you channel is one.
Very kind of you. There’s no book i could recommend for Geometry Nodes unfortunately. I learned what i know through watching what others before me have shared. Of course, as with anything it takes time and a lot of patience. I’m not a fan of Discord serves, maybe I’m a bit old, but I spend quite some time on TH-cam. There are quite some real pearls there. You just have to filter them from lots of repeated garbage.
Any chance to get a mixture of this with the Dynamic, Recursive Subdivision tutorial? So that texts grow and shrink in relation to each other? Or any hint on how achieve it?
I’m glad you’ve followed my instructions, and I’m sorry you’ve hit an obstacle. I do many times myself. May be you’ve missed something? If you need specific help, try to be more specific with your questions. I’ve used the combine XYZ node in more than one instance. Which one are you referring to, what time interval? Have you tried to connect it to any other node at all? Is it something related to my technique or a simple bug?!
@@ilirbeqiri this time code 12:54 combine xyz does not connect to rotate vector node i cant connect it its connected by red color and not working im used blender 4.02
@@asafilms then use the Vector Rotate node instead and try connecting it to that. Otherwise try it with a different version of Blender. I tried rebuilding the scene in 3.6 and everything worked as expected.
@asafilms @ilirbeqiri I have identical problem. In Blender 4.0 you cannot add a Combine XYZ to a Rotate Vector node. You get a red line. Problem solved when I used Blender 4.1.
@@jonkristinarson6506 the random value is used as a temporary measure, so I can generate an integer type group input in one step, using the ‘input’ keyword. You can choose to create your group inputs in the panel, but doing it there will add that socket to every Group Inout node in the node tree. You see, i like to keep my node tree clean. Whenever I need a new input, I generate a new group input node with just that socket, instead of connecting everything from one big group input. I explained that in the video. In this case, the math nodes only have float sockets, so the new socket generated using the ‘input’ keyword will be of type float. Changing the socket type in the panel will also add a new socket on every other instance of the Group Input in the node tree. Rewind back some more.
I got your email also. It's a common mistake that most people do (myself included) when in a hurry. You had stored the initial position as a float attribute in the point domain (you should have stored it as a vector attribute in the instance domain). I sent you an edited version of the example scene you sent me.
the example Mr Beqiri uses where the motion design phrase is rotating anyone have any tips on how to achive that effect? is it just about about rotating the tapered parts and then arraying them round a curve?

All the letters are stacked ... but can't find a node that will do the rotate vector for the letters. Anyone have a suggestion? Ah... I think I missed changing Vector/Instance of the stored named attribute for the initial position because I didn't copy the previous [pivot] stored named attribute. Maybe the [rotate Euler] node?
@@ilirbeqiri Thanks. I finished. I would be interested in your material setup. I think that is what pushes the project into the realm of Motion Graphics.

In Blender 3.6 look for Vector Rotate node, under the Utilities/Vector sub-menu. The rest should be the same.
