@@gregwootton Overall What did you think of the Alienware Area 51 case, could you replace the motherboard if you wanted to? I'm just wondering if the Alienware case could be used for a future build further down the road?
@@Mangomesh there’s lots of room inside should be able to replace the motherboard. I’m not sure if the Alienware lighting would still work. I love the design and so far I’ve added more RAM and hard drives.
Hi Greg, does the R5 uses the extender bracket for the graphic card? In other words, does the other end of the graphic card has 3 screw holes to attach the extender bracket? Thanks
I don’t know why they stopped selling them either. Area 51 has always had a good design but I guess the laptop version must’ve sold more. Still exciting that your getting the R11!
@@gregwootton ah right on. Yeah I'm excited for the 3090 but worried now about the cooling issues at the first and second overclocking, even with the liquid cooling. Lots of reviewers returning the R11. Incredible how much more performance you get when you overclock as I've been on gaming laptops for a long time.
@@BWT599 that would be awesome to have to the 3090. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and hopefully you won’t have any cooling issues. I do recommend the warranty and a friend of mine extended his.
really curious about ur RTX temps. Has it been consistently in the 90s? Because adding a second card so close is going to push that number higher and possibly result in throttling wont it? Thanks...good video
I'm glad you like the video. When its really being pushed in a demanding game its in the 80's-90's. It does a good job sucking cool air in the front and pushing it out the back so I haven't had any issues so far.
Hello...I was looking for a little bit of help.. I have an Alienware Area 51 R2 and I was overclocking the i7 6950X I had in it when it crashed and said overclock failed. F1 to load default. So I hit F1 and it never booted back up. (Motherboard X99) I can’t get into BIOS or anything. I tried to clear CMOS and still no luck. I was at first thinking I had a display issue but I’m sure that’s not the case because Chrome Remote Desktop starts on start up and even if I leave the PC run for about a hour it never shows up as an active device. (All fans and RGB run like normal) I’m fairly sure I fried the motherboard or cpu because the overclock was set to 4.4ghz with AUTO voltage... If you have any recommendations can you let me know? I also was thinking of possibly upgrading motherboard and cpu to a Ryzen 9 3900X. Would it be as easy as swapping just the motherboard and cpu?
I got the same spec expect I need to a ram upgrade keep me updated on your computer:) also what kind of games do you like to play? I’m assuming you have Xbox as well?
I think I purchase the same one as yours, I got it at best buy.... there's no audio and cd drive on this system right? Alienware - Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-9800X - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 - 2TB Hard Drive + 512GB Solid State Drive - Epic Silver
Johnny Watanabe no disc drive on the newer models. Yeah ours are pretty close spec, mine has the 2080ti and I added another 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD for games.
My problem and why u didn't end up with one of the proprietary motherboard the in house graphics card ( not from say MSI or EVGA) and power supply those are heart of the rig and I just don't trust Dell's quality but anyway enjoy your machine!
Mine will be here tomorrow. i7 7800x and 1080 ti. Dont think I'll sleep tonight. Thanks for the video!
Chelsea Phillips hope you enjoy yours :) I was quite excited to get mine as well
Again, list of the specs in my build.
i7 9800X
16GB XMP HyperX DDR4 RAM 2933 MHz
RTX 2080Ti
850W Gold Certified Modular PSU
256GB M.2 Nvme + 2TB 7200 RPM
Just to add I’ve since upgraded to 32GB of HyperX RAM and a Samsung 1TB SSD for games.
Should have went with a m.2 PCIe Samsung 970 Evo Plus
@@WASD-MVME I would've but the PC already came with an M.2 nvme 256Gb.

Really enjoyed the video. I came across a threadripper version of the Alienware Area 51 PC, do you think it would be worth it? Again, great video.
If the specs and price is good I would say go for it. I really enjoy this PC and sadly they don’t offer this one anymore.
