    What boots are you using? Would you recommend a softer or stiffer boot since the step on bindings series is naturally more responsive by design.

      I’m using the Felix which is medium on the stiffer side. It’s the stiffest one available for the stepon… Boots are always a big question and I will say they it’s very much a matter of riding style. I like and enjoy park but mostly I am more of an aggressive rider and love carving. So i personally prefer stiffer boots. From all the women’s SO boots I would choose from either the Felix or the Rituals- which are softer because of the material and the articulating calf, but still responsive. But not as much. Happy to help more if you tell me about your riding a bit :)

    I got the white Genesis binding, it looks great and feels good. However my mesh hammock broke off on the first day, it just disappeared. I assumed it came off when I unlatched... The Mesh is held on by a single flimsy rivet and the boot latch can catch and break it off without you knowing. The biggest problem when I contacted burton is that they don’t hold white spare parts so they were going to replace the whole Hi-back with a black one so I will have mis-match blinding. Later I was told they didn’t even have a spare Gensis Hi-back so they can’t help me. They offered a refund but I was on the mountain and no local shop sells the genesis so I was stuck with a broken binding for the rest of the trip. Without the mesh, the boot latch gets caught in the hi-back hole so you can’t easily step into the binding. This really wrecked my holiday and was not impressed with how the burton warranty department handle this…. One would expect more from such an expensive binding…

      Oh man, total bummer and sorry it recked your trip. I'm surprised to hear they didn't have any part to help you, even a new pair. Are you located in the US? I would call them again, and ask for either a replacement or a refund at this point. I haven't encountered a problem with the hammock, but I see how this could pose a problem. Next trip, I would consider taking another pair or if possible traveling with a second board. nothing worse than getting stuck with bad gear.

      To answer your question. I am located in Switzerland (Europe).
      I know several people here who had the exact same problem. The problem is actually not related to a production badge. The problem actually occurs because of a wrong design of the lower inner part of the outer toe hooks (I am a mechanical engineer). In the end, I returned the bindings and got a full refund. I will check the 2023 models and in case they reworked the design, I will probably give it another try. The step ons are amazing, as long as they do not break.

      @@rolandfrohlich79 Well @Nelson Ray was referring specifically to the Hammock in the Genesis model, so not related to the toe hooks. I have both the older model and last years model of the Step On and had zero issues with the toe hooks. Not sure I quite understand what your issue was - would love to hear more

      My outer toe hook of the right binding broke off on the very first exit after a single ride on day one of my holidays. I was litteraly shocked! Unfortunately there were no spares available in the mountain resort. The guy in the shop then told me there were multiple people with exact same problem. There are also lots of similar customer reports in the internet. Usually the outer toe hook is breaking. A comparison of the inner and outer toe hook has shown that the outer part has a badly designed edge which makes them breaking.

      I may ad that I had Gen 1 step ons before without issues, except some klicking nose and side pressure. Therefore, I upgrade to Gen 2.

    Do you prefer the regular or the escapade? I have felix wide boots should i go with the regular step on? Since they are stiffer? Which is more comfortable?

      It’s really a matter of preference. First, you have photons so I’m assuming you’re a man- then you’ll be looking at the Genesis (the escapade is the women’s version). My boots are like photons and I ride both regular and escapade depending where I go and what board I use. If you are a more aggressive rider go with the regular (maybe the x…?). If you ride a lot of park go with the Genesis. If you ride a bit of everything then I guess you can go with either one. Genesis is slightly with more flex but I’m not sure it’s worth the added price.

      I have the Felix wide, how is the hammock are they a bit flimsy? I heard about people manage to break it or however where they needed to send it for repairs.

    • @ALLaBOARDvideos
      @ALLaBOARDvideos  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mayumic08 yeah that's a fair question. I've seen a bunch complaining the hammock fell off, broke at the connecting point and even lost somewhere on the mountain. I can tell you this- I personally haven't had any issues with it yet, and ride it a lot for second season. And I'm assuming the number of complaints I've seen probably doesn't amount to the number of bindings out there.
      I will also point out that a lot of the problems with bindings breaking at the toe clips or the hammock I hear about is from men. I say this not as a criticism of any sort, but just an observation. It's possible that if you're a bit more aggressively trying to clip in and you put your foot the wrong way it will break. And to be a bit more to the point- maybe it is a bit flimsy. I definitely think they could have made the connection a bit stronger.
      The main thing I would say, is that I'm not certain it's worth the added price as the ReFlex base model is cheaper than the Genesis. Is the hammock even serving a purpose? As I referred to in the video, I'm not so sure. The high back has more flex, and that will function with or without the hammock. (Another thing, from different comments it sounds like fixing it and/or getting a new hammock from Burton is no easy task). I hope this helps - let me know if I can clear anything else

      Thats great to know, thats really helfpul info. I opt in for the base re flex step on. However im having lifting on the heel something similar th-cam.com/video/L8_nnCWdy38/w-d-xo.html wondering if this is normal? I have a friend who have the escapade and she didnt have this lift issue at all. Some say its normal and some say it is an issue. Thanks!

    • @ALLaBOARDvideos
      @ALLaBOARDvideos  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So it is normal. In fact I don’t see any issue in the video you sent. There’s normal flex between boot and binding and board. Or else you would have to stiff of a response and lose control of the board. This is normal with strap bindings as well.
      I know this is not happening to everyone. Some people say it’s an issue and ask for warranty replacement. However I heard from the best, who truly know about this tech, saying it’s natural. I think that while riding you would never feel the issue.
      Why do some experience it and some don’t is my problem here. I think that perhaps the combination of different board, different sizes and different angles and forward lean and perhaps very minor inconsistent boots may cause this. I don’t think it’s a big deal but I’d it bothers you a lot try and get a replacement. However make sure that the gas pedal is in the correct spot and that you are fully clicked in before you move forward.
      My escapade do this slightly. I hated it at first but honest at riding it’s not noticeable. My opinion only
