x dietz Not exactly. Brostep focuses on mid range bass effects and an overload of seemingly random (yet rythmic) noises, and it often has a more complex and less heavy drum beat than regular dubstep. I will admit that there is decent brostep out there, and I listen to a bit of it, but I still far prefer this stuff. Knife Party prefer to make Electro House more than anything, skrillex makes mostly good Brostep, and Excision is just experimenting with different styles at the moment.

Brostep is gooood music. You're just listening to the wrong ones. Excision and Datsik, Getter, Zomboy, MUST DIE!, Skism, Gemini, and Flux Pavilion (Flux Pavilion is one of my favs) are ones you should check out to really get the full experience of Brostep before you turn down the genre all together. Hell, even this one is remixed by one of the biggest Brostep producers.
