@imaweirdo-gq8tg: I'm not too worried that Purdy hears the noise. There are some guys who play their best when it counts the most and its an innate ability. In this clip, they said Purdy, during the state high school Championship game, threw for 500 yards with 6 TDs with no interceptions. I doubt there are more than 10 QBs in a State high school Championship game that can match that performance. Some guys become laser focused when the lights shine brightest and it's what sets the very good from the great.
And people say cam Newton was elite. He had one good season, and he sucked afterwards, Joe burrow came back after acl tear and led the bengals to a Super Bowl appearance. Cam Newton is a complete joke
Brock doesn’t have the prototypical Cpt America body they’re looking for, & his arm isn’t a cannon. But he has the accuracy of a sniper & the football brain that will make him elite.

I never got how being a "system" QB is an insult. All QBs play to a system. Being able to work within a system and adapt yourself is a skill unto itself, even if you're not an atletic freak like Jackson, Mahomes, Burrow or Allen. I hope he gets his ring, it would be wild to see
Purdy is a system quarterback. A very good quarterback! Montana, Young, Brady,... all the same! So happy to have such a quality quarterback; one who is an even better man of God! We have truly been blessed to have him!
What sucks is that Purdy can perform well but the Chiefs are good. They can still beat the Niners if Purdy performs well, and if they still lose the Purdy haters will be taking victory laps. Go Niners
Yep, and we are seeing that today with the Chiefs winning. Mahomes is literally the greatest QB of this generation. It's going to be hard for a sophomore QB playing his first full season to beat out a calm, cool, collected, and experienced QB like Mahomes. Haters just can't see that

It was almost the Mr. irrelevant of that year) now let's theorize: what if Shanahann and Lynch knew what Brock Purdy could do and recruited him last, so they could pay him a few money... and thanks to that they could pay the players who finished their rookie contracts and had to open the checkbook ... Now the 49ers have a good QB and they have been able to pay the contract extension to Deebo, Bosa and now it is Aiyuk's turn... and they have been able to bring in Darnold and Chase Young and another ones... which they couldn't do If they had a millions of dollars franchise QB coming out of college... When the time comes to pay Purdy his contract extension, the aforementioned will already be insured with the team, along with Fred Warner and Hufanga, and perhaps Greenlaw. If this group of players stays together (CMC, Kittle, Juszczyk, Williams, Warner, Hufanga... etc) for 5 years... at least one SB will come, I don't know if it will be this next one, but at least they will win a trophy Lombardi...and thanks to Purdy's rookie contract...

The "game manager" narratives will continue regardless of the outcome of the Super Bowl. Some people are like a dog with a bone, they just can't let it go.
I believe in this man, we’re both 24 so maybe it’s that young energy but he’s just that that good if a quarterback making phenomenal players around him even more phenomenal!!
If I'm going to be honest, I don't think they win the game even if they made the XP. I think the Chiefs would have scored a TD at the end of the game instead of settling for a FG.
Well, the NFL puts a premium on hand size and it was evident during the rainy game. The ball was slipping out of his hands, but lucky for him. He plays in California and it rarely rains in California prior to November and then he’s only here half the time, but he’s pretty good quarterback.
Purdy will not end the game manage narrative for a while. Even if they win the SB in a blowout or a tight game, or Pat says Uncle, I give up; you are too good. Nothing Purdy can do will silence the doubters for a while. He has to just play well for years to come, and eventually, the haters/doubters will fade into the background noise. Look at all the props Lamar is getting for never even going to the big game. CJ Stroud is in his first year, and he's talked about as the second coming. Look at Love; just for getting the playoff, people are acting like he is Rodgers reborn. The difference between these players and Purdy is where they were picked in the draft and the expectations placed on them. Purdy is defying expectations, so people hate him; he is saying, "Look, you were wrong about me." No one likes to be told they are wrong, especially not when you are on TV with the expert label on your name badge.
Niners all day, purdy tell ‘em I’ve seen him play in Az against my wolves he is very special in in 2019 he almost came back and won state all I’m saying this kid is real his ability to read defense is among the best Nick Saban is the product of the players he is nothing without his 5 star talent look at belichek without Brady?? How is that going for patriot fans?? Not that great all im saying is that Purdy is special very special
Brock was simply overshadowed by being part of a bad team, in a loaded qb class and had his output downsized by an extraordinary running back. Anyone that took a glance at his efficiency though knew he could be great, and its probably for the best that he went to a team like the 49ers, where he wont be asked to protect himself from edge rushers and throw every receiver open
Easy answer, because he’s good & the NFL draft is dedicated to drafting the worst QBs as high as possible, no position in any sport is drafted as poorly as QBs
Ah yes; he was the one who failed to recover the punt, he was the one who missed the point conversion, he was the one that got 3 players injured. Oh yeah, and it was also against the greatest quarterback of our era on the best team. But no, it’s all purdy’s fault I guess lmao
sounds exactly like the path of two of the greatest ever...ken stabler, and tom brady... a young joe montana wasn't really expected to accomplish much either. he's in good company.
Because NFL talent evaluation isn't very good. 14 of 26 HOF QBs would not be Day 1 (Modenr 32-team Round 1) picks -- Farve (Round 2), Fouts (Round 3), Graham (Free Agent), Jurgensen (Round 4), Montana (Round 3), Moon (Mid-round grade, played in Canada at first), Stabler (Round 2), Starr (Round 17!!!!), Staubach (Round 10), Tarkenton (Round 5), Unitas (Round 9), Van Brocklin (Round 9), Warner (FA), Waterfield (Round 5). Many of the players who have very low draft choices would have picked earlier but still would have been Day 2 or Day 3 picks in the modern draft. For example, Waterfield was drafted 45th so as we can see it's 100% the same as today's Round 5 guys who are drafted around 150th...
To be fair on the Staubach front, the concern wasn't his talent but his required military service. Teams passed on him because they didn't know if he would be available let alone good by the end of his military contract.
Purdy is a great story but is he a difference maker? I’m not sure he is at this point of his career. It’s only his second season. He found himself in a great situation that many QBs around the league don’t get. You look at other teams who drafted young QBs and what are they all looking for still? Weapons. Brock has the best running back in the league. One of the best tight ends in the league. The best left tackle and two really good receivers to go with a top 5 defense. The Niners are able to do that because Purdy isn’t getting paid. As bad as Garoppolo has looked in LV, even he went 4-0 with this same team before getting hurt.
Only time will tell, but I will say he is still better than his haters make him out to be. I mean, even if his career ended today (God forbid that happens), he would still have far exceeded all expectations from him. As of right now, I would say the 49ers got at least 3rd Round Talent out of their last overall pick. Not bad at all.
And nick Saban started Blake sims at qb a few years ago and he was only 5’11, not even the minimum height for a giant at 6 feet tall and nick Saban isn’t even close to a giant either, he’s only 5’6. So nick Saban can also suck it. I’m glad he lost in the playoffs this year for that one. Karma.
