On an autolanding the spoilers (speedbrake panels) and wheelbrakes will operate automatically when set otherwise perfect video. Couldn't bear to watch the final scrapping.

I remember a flight with a BA 747 to Manila. Feels like a century ago, as smoking was still allowed. As, apparently, there were not to much passengers in Business class, the flight crew gave me two seats. One in the smoking section On the lower deck, and one in the non/smoking section on the upper deck. One little problem though. I was in Manila, my luggage in London. And the luggage came in on the flight that I was to take to return. But BA gave me 100 USD in cash to buy what I needed, so, no problem. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
I was on what they told us was the first 747 flight to have paying passengers, from LA to DC, I think it was, in 1967, again, if memory serves. They asked us for our reactions after we landed and I suggested that it might be nice if they could attach the luggage bins to the ceiling so they didn't flap in the breeze quite so much.

I hope they get good retirement benefits and that the airline hasn't reduced their pensions and that their pensions were fully guaranteed and that they had a good 401K program and great benefits for medical, and a great bonus program and good increases every year. But it's the pension that I'm worried about most for them. I wish them a very lucrative retirement and the ability to travel the world without having to spend more than on a bag of chips. I heard the airlines have travel packages and even expenses paid. GO TO WORK FOR THE AIRLINES PEOPLE, DO IT NOW. some don't even do a BG check.

I flew on a British Airways business class in 2019 and it was the worst airline I have ever flown in business class. I was on an Airbus 380. The planes World Club seats which are still in the 380 planes alternate between forward and backwards facing, and every pair of seats features a divider that can be lowered to chat with a seatmate or to interact with flight attendants during meal service. This means that occasionally, the person in the aisle seat has food passed over their table, and when the divider is lowered, seatmates are facing each other rather than being side by side. It is an unusual setup and if offers little to no privacy. Remember a customer does pay a premium for those seats. My window seat was very uncomfortable and the food was just awful. Service was not good either. I was never greeted when I boarded the plane. Just looking at the seats being taken off the place. It proves there is little comfort to BA seats due to how light they were. The fabrics were all worn down. So far the best business class I have flown was American Airlines 777 planes. Very comfortable, private and the food was amazing. I was surprised how good their business class was. British Airways needs to hire new interior designers along with new chefs that design their meal service.
You are comparing modern BA to the old BA. Like all the legacy carriers, since 9/11, GFC and Covid, these companies now have an intimate understanding about how poorly they can treat customers and still have them return with open wallets. They have restructured themselves and now only exist for shareholder value (and the closely linked corporate bonuses) with customer experience not even in the top 5 priorities. We are in a different era, and the old way of doing things is gone forever…of that I am certain.

Ive crawled inside wing to connect bolts . Completely dark. Narrow. And low. Flashlight only. Fuel was drained to replace the wing. C141 USAF 1980.
