I’m learning to fly a glider and find this very clear

I can’t wait to get back in the air in April 2022. So far I’ve had three arrow tows and 15 winch launches. My greatest achievement will be able to stay in the air than three minutes on a winch launch. That first left turn is a real fine-needle to Fred

How easy is it to learn? I'm thinking of learning to fly myself

Actually quite easy, is an awesome feeling.

Easier than learning to drive a car and much more fun...

anyone else notice their variometer was frozen wonder why the instructor not realise that

Mechanical Vario, it is duplicated in the rear instrument panel and functions seperately. You often can't see the front instruments at all from the back seat. Lightly tapping the surround (not the glass or the instrument itself) is usually enough to unstick it. Not critical to this lesson so it goes unnoticed!

Aah ok I thought it was important cause they were using ridgelift

@@timzo5313 you are right in that you would refer to it yes, but not second/third flight in. The additional airtime the ridge lift affords is just useful for general handling, too early for learning to soar. The eVario is working, bottom right of the instrument panel :)
