I love how txt are getting appreciated on this channel as they should be appreciated everywhere.
My Theory: Soobin is held hostage by "the cat" that's why no one can see him in this video, they think he is dead (they literally break into the house if you look closely). Taehyun is the only one who knows sth isn't right and can feel Soobin, he's also trying to figure out who is "guilty" between them. Yeonjun thinks he *IS* guilty bc he keeps setting things on fire without knowing (unconsciously).
(Soobin is also suspected of Yeonjun bc of the bobble gum scene and him asking "who's the liar")
Beomgyu on the other hand *IS* the real guilty one bc "the cat" is constantly possessing him and using him to destroy the others (like when he tried to suffocate Taehyun bc he was starting to suspect him).
The only one I'm not sure of his role is Kai. He seems like "the innocent one" but him being the only one who's cautious in the bedroom scene makes me suspicious.

Ok so I have a theory that I think makes a lot of sense but it’s super dark so just bare with me:
They are representing both one boy and his friends all at once, who went insane after Crown and Runaway, bcs he grew horns and was isolated and then he manifested magic gaining him back some new friends but as it gets out of control so does his mind and him, as he declines deeper into insanity his friends start to distance themselves from him so he ends up murdering all of them in an attempt to keep them close forever so he can play with them, which explains the “happy” scenes of them kidding around and always playing with red things representing the blood he can’t get out his head but for some reason out of nowhere they always turn super dark and he ends up alone or isolated while his “friends” are walking around or just standing there looking at him, which is showing that sometimes out of nowhere he realizes what he did and it just gets worse until he can’t forget anymore which drives him even further insane and he burns down the house he had so many memories and killed them in, that’s the gist of it, it’s like a super dark theory but it make a lot of sense to me and I rly love it

When it comes to Yeonjun and Beomgyu I really feel like the red mess and chaos sorta being caused by them represents not knowing your friends are hurting or that you're hurting them instead of being the one hurting. With Beomgyu everything he does (seems to) have playful intentions but is malicious or hurtful to everyone else, like him flicking food onto Taehyun's shirt (near his heart), which could represent making a joke or being playful and unintentionally hurting the other person. And with Yeonjun it seems to be similar, but unlike Beomgyu he seems to notice the pain he's causing, which could be why the members circle around him, which could represent the anxiety that comes with hurting someone you love/are close with, we see this when he crushes the tomato and seeing the mess on his hands, that could represent him hurting his friends and feeling guilty about it, possibly why he has red on his hands almost like they're bloody. I also heard that the house was on fire because Yeonjun left the oven open, which could represent being too open and honest and ruining a friendship, and the shot of him outside of the oven could represent him telling himself not to be guilty and leave/forget about them, which might be why the members feel like ghosts surrounding him.

He wants them to know it that they are hurting him by their actions but he still keeps smilimg and laughing with them because he dont wanna lose them and instead wanna have fun also in other words its also like the way they all were playing or joking was too much for him to handle and he laughed and smiled but form inside he was like stop thats enought please thats all i got from this lol.

The way I interpret this video is that they are “friends” in the most superficial basic way friendship can be defined. Their is a darkness in their nature, darkness and ill intent hidden behind perfectly timed smiles and laughs and innocent/youthful demeanors. They put on a happy unified front but they all actually feel the same inside...unhappy and completely homicidal towards each other . They don’t realize that they feel the same however...because everyone is amazing at faking their feelings and hiding their true character. Because of this they don’t FEEL understood or truly SEEN for who they are at the core... even though they are more alike than any of them could guess (perhaps why they are friends to start with) . These disturbed individuals have intense psychotic moments in which they imagine exactly how they want to hurt and harm each other. It’s so bad that they entertain these homicidal thoughts and feelings even when they are supposedly sharing a light hearted playful moment together (moments in the video when their voices distort, when the video stutters and slow-mos or speeds up, moments when the camera pans on their unhappy/intense faces, flames that mean the ruin of friendship, unity or togetherness... red food or drinks and also when they see visions of red...which most likely represent repressed cravings for blood and violence against one another 😬). They don’t want to shatter the delicate pretense of their relationship however. There is some normalcy in pretending to be normal. So instead they work pass the disturbing thoughts and continue to play their parts as a happy unified NORMAL group of friends. It’s brilliant! Someone should write a fanfic 😭...hell I might write the fanfic myself!!!

Beogyu was really scary in this video. I think their are trying to criticize the general normalization of bullying in the korean society. In this video TXT are friends, but apparently some of them, Beomgyu and Yeonjun, were doing extreme pranks, such as messing up the juice, shoes on the bed, throwing things to the others, pushing Taehyun on the bed and choking him etc. But some of them, Taehyun and Soobin, are not happy about it, they were playing along but not always smiling with them somehow showed their upsets. While Hueningkai was just watching, playing along, not realizing whats happening. Then in the end the fight went viral, juice everywhere, the house was on fire, and Yeonjun finally realized his actions went too far yet he doesnt know what to do. And thats the story. At the very end they sang “bad””sad”, things are messed up and the house is still on fire while neither of them knows how to solve it. Heres my theory, hope it helps:)))

I think the house represents whats going on inside of their heads, their emotions or their perception of each other . The house gets progressively worse while the song becomes more and more of a cry for help. When the starts catching on fire the songs starts repeating the same lines “cant you see me?” And “my friends don’t understand me anymore”.

My half baked theory:
Going off on that theory of someone going through pain but trying to hide while expecting those closest to them to see how they are really feeling, I think Yeonjun in the mv can represent how the pain can cause some strains on relationships.
In Nap of the Star Yeonjun has a cut on his neck and rips off his antler, Run Away where he is seen with a cut on his thumb, and the most telling scene for me is where he squishing a tomato and his friends stop and stare at him. This might be representative of those who self-harm and how others respond to it. Nap of the Star has his friends comforting Yeonjun after he rips off his antler. Run Away shows Yeonjun again receiving support from his friends (bandaid on his thumb cut), trying to stop his destructive actions (putting out the fires he caused, reading books on how to stop fires, removing him from the place where he caused those fires). The glasses Yeonjun could represent as he knows or sees how destructive the habit can be. Magic Island he gets hurt again, but either his friends don't notice or they trust him to take care of himself (he soothes his thumb).
However, in Can't You See Me, we can see the group playing around with red food that if handled too roughly can make a mess. This could be taking dark heavy topics like self-harm and joking/being dismissive about them in a careless and insensitive way that could be rather hurtful in the long run. The tomato scene could be taken as Yeonjun going too far with the dismissive behavior/joking behavior that he actually hurts himself (physically or mentally). His friends stop and stare at him, shocked at what happened. Though some members like Soobin and Taehyun look doubtful at Yeonjun and Beomgyu playing around with the red food, earlier no one actually tries to stop it and eventually all participate. Once that Yeonjun is seen with red on his hands and his friends staring, the video has moments of them playing around but also where they all seem to be uncomfortable with what happened and grow more distant around each other.
Lemme just say... y’all aint ready for their song Eternally. ALSO, there was that one scene where beomgyu suffocated taehyun wig that pillow. Idk of you guys saw it right but im just here to point things out lol

I think that glitch effect at 9:54 in the video was symbolic to how emotions of depression or loneliness can make you numb and slow down your way of processing so everything around you is moving at a pace that feels unfamiliar. It is highly possible for that to be the reason behind it

The theories that surface from these MPs and songs just hurt my brain because it's too much to process. Like Ben J said, it would be so cool if the minds behind these concepts, like BigHit staff, directors, producers, etc. were interviewed. Their ideas and beliefs also go into their songs, along with BTS and just everything as a whole. It's so captivating.
Y'all should remember that BIGHIT is a "music and artist for healing", so i feel like with their music and artists they are showing the world issues people go through, one of BTS was loving yourself and now with TXT it's kinda showing how some people feel lonely and empty inside.

This was solely the main purpose of bighit when it comes to producing song and music videos, they want the listeners to really think about the meaning of the song itself and what is going on in the music video (we all know bighit isnt just about aesthetic but also a combination of storylines and deeper symbolisms). This is one of the many reactions ive watched so far and one thing they all have in common: They kept on replaying or going back to some parts because as they have said “there is a lot happening in the mv”. I really love the reactors because they took time to understand what is happening. This was really the trademark of bighit that not every kpop group has. Even though you just want to enjoy the music, later on you find yourself wanting to understand the concept and the whole video lol.
