This was the best video I've seen so far showcasing the Move. No BS just straight to all the features and how it connects with Ableton. A thorough explanation and thank you for that! Mine arrives next week i can't wait!
Lemme just say this.......THIS is a a tutorial!!! Yes!! Exactly what I was looking for. Unboxing, turn it on, update. What is lit up when you FIRST turn it on, explain what you're doing as you do it without side-stories, etc. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. Now, I've made the decision to actually BUY this. MariGo you are the best. I even subscribed too! 😀
Thank you so much for this video, it was the best demonstration of what this thing has to offer. I also liked that you spent a little bit of time showing the controller aspect of move in live, seeing that I think has pushed (pardon the pun) to get this over a push 1/2.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to make this. I know these things are a slog but this is a great walkthrough. I've wanted to be a certified trainer for many years but they never have sessions anymore. Their loss!
This is by far the best out of the dozen or so Move videos I've watched showcasing the device. You keep doing this sort of content! I love how you elaborated on the functions in detail. When my Move arrives next week, I'll be going back and watching this video to bring me back up to speed! :)
@@marigo5714 I got my move a couple of days ago, and this video really helped me get started quickly. Again, HIGHLY recommend this vide, and the Move!!
Spectacular Move video, what Ableton itself should have put out (pay this woman, Abes). I love my Move and keep coming back here to check out certain things I can't remember how to do. Super comprehensive and well done. Thank you!
Congratulations, as other people said this is the best video about ableton move... Thank you very much and sorry for my bad english. Kisses from France
great tutorial. the per step automation is my favorite feature on the push. love it, that the move can do it just the same. skillfully and thoroughly presented, very good!
Thank you so much for this video! Move seems like the perfect platform to teach my kiddos about production. Everything seems so intuitive and powerful. Can’t wait to dive in!
Great tutorial. Very thorough. Personally I don't see how this is too limited. 4 tracks but your drum track can be 16 tracks! That's 19 tracks all in! Very similar to the MC101. Swapping instruments per pattern would be nice but this is a great device. Also sampling capabilities and a controller for Live...it's a no brainer. It's marketed as a sketch pad,so let's not forget that, but it far exceeds that in my opinion. Can't wait to get one. Great video!
Quick question.Awesome video. You’re very easy to listen to and clear with instructions. Question. How do you create sample folders inside of Move manager. I create and name folder. But they don’t open so I can load my user samples. If you or anyone have figured it out please lmk. Thanks a ton.
You can just drag samples directly into the "samples" tab in the move manager. Those samples will then appear under "User Samples" when you're scrolling in the browser.
Thank you for showcasing Live integration - I was wondering what sequencer buttons do when connected to Live. I want to buy it but I don't know if Move could be used as a wireless MIDI to control other midi capable apps. The hardware looks great and I'm only wondering if there is someting like "wireless midi mode".
Thanks for the great tutorial. I'm interested in moving a drum rack I created in Live 12.1 to the Move. I think that's possible, but I can't seem to figure out how to create the right file type for the Move. The Move Manager is telling me "The allowed file extensions are ablpresetbundle." Appreciate it.
Thank you very much for the video. Very helpful. I'm not-so-patiently awaiting mine to be delivered. You said it got a firmware update as soon as you turned it on... May I ask: What firmware version is it currently?
Can you make a video showing how the Move works in controller mode with simpler? I read that you can "lazy chop" samples like the push, but I can't find any videos of someone actually showing this.
Hit the loop button, then use the step sequencer buttons to select the right loop portion. Also side note, you can "clear capture" by holding shift and hitting the capture button. This will start a fresh capture for you so that previous noodling does not get picked up.
Yes! Select the sample icon in the display. Then hit shift + press down on the wheel to scroll to the "filter & setup." Then panning is the knob farthest on the right.
Can this sync to other hardware using midi usb cable ? For example, can I sync to a TR 808 since Move doesn't have designated midi in and midi out ports how does that work?
Does anyone know if it’s possible to make glides in the sequencer per step as well? (I’m halfway through the video, super awkward if this is addressed later on - I’m sure it is). Couldn’t find it in the manual, though.
Hmmm I'd have to test this but i think if you load a Sampler onto a track, set the MIDI settings correctly, and then have monitoring on in the recording options (as if you're going to sample it) it should play through. This is kind of a work around because there are no audio tracks on MOVE.
If you turn on Ableton Cloud sync, you can sync from either Note and/or Move and have it appear on Live’s browser. For me, this is the single biggest selling point of staying within the Ableton ecosystem. It is ridiculously easy to start a track in Note, play around a bit more on Move and then open up Live to finish the track off.
Unfortunately the framerste of the video is so choppy that it is close to unwatchable without getting a headache. Such a pity considering the included information might otherwise be worth it.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm so glad you found it helpful. Have fun with your new MOVE!
This was by far the best move feature overview I've seen yet!! No bs, just facts!
This is a great video. I’ve watched it more than once. Keep up the good work.
This is such a well paced and thoughtful walkthrough. No time wasted, by scrolling endlessly through presets.
Single handedly sold me on the Move.
This is so well done, if you have time, please make more videos on Move.

You said it got a firmware update as soon as you turned it on... May I ask: What firmware version is it currently?
1.1.2

ah cool! I'll check that out for another video. I can't remember if I've seen that demoed yet or not.
Hi, so, there isn't any way to for example add a distortion effect on only one sample in the drumkit, like only the kick?
can you load Loops and single Shots into Move instead of creating everything from scratch?
you can load in your own samples into the MOVE manager!
whit the move in control live mode is possible have more than the 4 tracks you can go down with the arrows like de APC40MKII???
yes you can scroll down through whatever tracks you have in live with the arrows!
Hi thank you so much for this. Am I being stupid or is there no way to actually export a track as a wav/mp3?!
@@joewalker8310 have to connect to wifi and then open the MOVE manager on your computer. Then you can download the set as wav
capture is a bit tricky to get start point of track right 🤨 how do i move start point and shorten clip length if u know what i mean 🙏
Hit the loop button, then use the step sequencer buttons to select the right loop portion. Also side note, you can "clear capture" by holding shift and hitting the capture button. This will start a fresh capture for you so that previous noodling does not get picked up.

Can you pan the samples on the drum kit?
Yes! Select the sample icon in the display. Then hit shift + press down on the wheel to scroll to the "filter & setup." Then panning is the knob farthest on the right.
How do you increase the volume of the metronome?
wow i actually don't think you can adjust metronome volume!
Can this sync to other hardware using midi usb cable ? For example, can I sync to a TR 808 since Move doesn't have designated midi in and midi out ports how does that work?
Yes, I show this with my keyboard about 18 minutes in!
Breakout module fur euro???
If you already have push 3 do you think you gain anything by getting a move? Kinda torn
Absolutely 👍🏻 I own Push 3 and the Move triggers my creativity in very different ways especially with the easy sampling feature
Is it possible to use a midi keyboard like Komplete Kontrol M32 connected to the usb port and power it via the ableton move?
Yes!
@@marigo5714 marvelous!

Glide would just be a setting on the synth and apply to any midi notes that overlap
@@marigo5714 Ah, of course 😊
Can I play my external prophet synth through as all the tracks are playing? I don’t want to effect it , I just want to hear it …

Is there any way to easily reverse samples in the drum rack?
I think I saw another reviewer mention that Move can't reverse samples.
No! Definitely would be a great feature to add in future updates. Hopefully they'll consider.
@@marigo5714I’m sure sampler reversing will be here soon. You can already do it in Ableton Note.
