Not only are you a great wind/wing/kite surfer, you are an exceptional teacher. You have a natural gift for clear and concise explanation, ..and Whoever does the videos and graphics should get a raise, amazing. Thank you for this. I'm only as good as I am today at kitesurfing because of your content over the years.
By far the best tutorial out there... A MUST watch for all beginners both before and after first tries on the water certainly added so much to the learning process. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
This is the best tutorial wing foiling video I've seen. Don't stop, we need more!!!! How to set up your board and foils video would be great and how to fly the foils
with the help of this video I managed my first brief ride up on the foil and it felt brilliant, just as I was beginning to think this sport isn't for me. Your videos are the best I've found, thank you.
This is an amazing and very effective tutorial, it can’t get better than that. Who needs an instructor when you have access to this kind of online support? Bravo!!!
Thankyou very much Rene-Denis, I really appreciate that. I do put a lot of effort into making a clear and information-dense tutorial and researching all aspects so that the advice contained is the safest and most useful. If I may, for the benefit of anyone reading this, I'd like to add that lessons are still very helpful for a number of reasons. For people with limited watersports experience lessons will help you learn about your local spot, and stay safe if/when you drift somewhere you shouldn't. Also they will select and tune gear to suit your level and of course a great instructor will spot and correct you personal mistakes quickly. Lessons are also helpful to experienced foilers/windsports athletes for a different reason. People with a lot of previous experience will typically progress through a couple of different board in their first few hours of winging. So lessons can help them quickly master the basics without needing to buy a beginner board, and then help them figure out exactly what type of equipment they'll need after. Best of luck with your wing foiling, all the best, Alex.
@@kitesurfcollege Hi Alex, you are completely right. My point was not to make instructors redundant as they are very valuable. I come from windsurfing and kitesurfing/kitefoiling and especially with the kiting disciplines, starting without an instructor is totally suicidal. For those who have some good “waterman” practice, your videos really make it possible start on one’s own and decide later when and if they need an instructor, depending on theirs needs. Congratulations and thank you for all your explanations.
I have watched pretty much every day wing tutorial video on you tube. This video and your gybe one are two of the best. If I’d seen these a year ago it would have short circuited so much pain and time. Well done.
Really nice use of vectors in your videos, which make the motions you are trying to describe much more evident than others that don't have these vectors. Thanks!
I grew skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, sailing, flying, and later on surfing. This looks right up my alley. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
Hi, I just discovered this tutorials playlist. I watched many videos on wing foiling and these are the clearest and most detailed videos I have seen. The work on the diagrams and arrows is impressive and helps to better understand everything.
This is a really great vide! I am going to have my second lesson tomorrow and I _really_ wish I had seen this before my first one! The explanations are so clear and the footage is so well matched, it is easy to see how things work. Great job and thank you so much!
Indubitably the best wing foil beginner tutorial I've seen and I've watched quite a few, until I'll finally manage to part the cash to get the necessary gear to initiate at the sport. Concise and thoughtfully explained. Very helpful graphics as well. Great thanks.
That was an awesome intro, and really make better sense to me than the other beginner vids I've watched. I really found the diagrams and technical points great. Thanks heaps.
I started wingfoiling last year and have watched countless videos since. I wish I had found your videos sooner. This is the best I have seen so far. thnx a lot and keep on!
Excellent. Clear, concise and great use of dynamic diagrams. I’ve watched quite a few introductory videos and this is by far the best. This is the only one I keep coming back to. Thank you!
This is very helpful for me after my first few times on the water with the wing/board/foild but far more detailed than just an intro. Thank you, I'll keep watching over and over and focus on the specific parts I need as I progress.
Great video and nicely broken down into segments, thank you. I am on my third foiling session and really appreciate the comment about sheeting out once on the plane, cannot wait to try this out to restore some control to my foiling! Thanks again and looking forward to the next video.
I'm not really attracted by wingfoiling but watched this video because I was very curious about it. This video is cristal clear- as always. Thank you so much for the quality of your vids. It probably took a lot of time to build, but what an outstanding result. You re the best, by far.
You're awesome. I'm on session 4, wish this had been published two weeks ago 🤣. Thanks for all the great advice; two things that helped me a lot were looking at the horizon for balance and holding the wing over my head for standing up. Thanks as always... I just started sitting while kite foiling thanks to you 👍👍👍
Yeah, good that you mention it, they should probably add a note to "not look on your bike wheels" :D I also still often forget it, but when I do remember and look ahead instead of on the equipment, it immediately improves my levitation stability *a lot*. Another unrelated thing that would be good if they could talk about, is stance. I seem to be flying with my "ass sticking out", in a "low position", and was recently advised by a teacher to work on standing more straight. He said it took himself quite a lot time to get a good hold of that.
Very good explanations as usual. It is the first time I see such a clear detail of the difference between taxi and fly and this seems a key point to start with wingfoil without too much issues! I practice a lot of Kitesurf but not kitefoil , and I am more than interested with wingfoil to practice on a small lake where wind just goes up and down so much that kite is really intractable !🥺
Thanks Nicolas. Yes definitely, wing foiling opens up lots of new spots compared to kiting, or means you can go out for a blast when the wind is not ideal. You can ride quite easily even in gusty wind once you've got the basics.
So grateful for this tutorial. Thank you a lot , I’ll try to follow all of your tips this weekend … It’ll be the first time with my new wing sup table and foil… Greetings from Sardinia…
Phenomenal tutorial for beginners, the wind arrow really helped! After windsurfing for years it's so challenging to learn this but thank you for helping!
So I am starting to learn this sport, and am still at the taxi on knees stage. One thing that stands out in this video is how much control he has on his knees. And also how much wind there seems to be, even though the water is almost flat. What is the wind speed shown here? In my local when it is 12knots, it seems I don't have enough power to control correctly with my 5m yet, but also at 12kts there is already some chop which makes it hard.
Great video. Shows me what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. I've been trying to get up on foil in 11kt winds, but no success. I think my front foot is too far forward. I'm going to try shoulder width stance next time.
Thanks Michel, let us know how it goes. This video was filmed in light wind 7 to 12 knots. In 11 knots you do need light wind gear i.e. big wing 6m2, large foil front wing 1750 to 2500cm2, and plenty of volume in your board.
dear Alex, you make it look like a walk in the park but many many thanks for your effort in creating this tutorial. For beginners like me it's pure gold. May I ask, where are you teaching? greetings from Zürich, Dominik
Good video. Thank you. Looking for words of wisdom on possibly a wing foil. I'm a long time "decades" long boarder to give real I idea what use/enjoy i have/had since 1993 a equipe xr2 an a phantom 377 since 2015 that like 377 better with it's advantages. Use 8.5 ezzy lions on both for decades with my local given conditions of 10-20 knots when I can sail June to September. I'm getting old 58 having a harder time transporting dealing with all on water with age becoming a issue. I'm 5.7 tall 170 lb like being able to hook into my harness enjoy the ride 10-20 knots. I'm looking for a long board alternative to keep me smiling on the water for many more years that I can transport an physically be able to enjoy. Wings to me seem like they would be physically demanding in comparison to be able to hook in the harness in comparison to longboarding in similar weather. Please give words of wisdom wing.. or...👍👎

Perfect tutorials, very helpful in my beginnings.....thanks Alex
After wasting time watching other videos, TH-cam finally suggested the best tutorial! Thanks for posting!

Definitely the best so far, true.
This is the best tutorial wing foiling video I've seen. Don't stop, we need more!!!! How to set up your board and foils video would be great and how to fly the foils
Cheers Johan. Those topics are all filmed and on the way. Just need a few more hours in the day to get everything edited :-)
Thank you KsC, solid community service you are making!!!
with the help of this video I managed my first brief ride up on the foil and it felt brilliant, just as I was beginning to think this sport isn't for me. Your videos are the best I've found, thank you.
This video is far and away the most thoughtful and specific I've seen. A public service! *Thank* you!

Good teacher and proper isolation/progression/instruction saves a student a lot of time and f***kry 💪🏻
Please advise me to buy this kind board I try online but it’s not big like your board there sizes of board?
Perfectly clear, step by step, no useless bla, bla, bla. Thank you, great job
Definitely the most thorough video about Wing foil you can find on TH-cam. Great.
I have watched pretty much every day wing tutorial video on you tube. This video and your gybe one are two of the best. If I’d seen these a year ago it would have short circuited so much pain and time. Well done.
Never in my 40 years of windsurfing, kiting (twin tip, surfboard, foiling) and now winging, have I ever been had flat water like this!
The best sports tutorial I've ever seen. Detailed, precise, easy to understand. TOP
Thanks for the best tutorial ever. Probably watched this a 100 times :-)
Thanks for supporting my channel and I'm glad my video helped. All the best, Alex

Amazing video! The importance of showing the wind drection arrow on the water is extremly helpful.
Wind direction error!!! - pointer to all those hotshot kids that just yap nonstop. 🤐🤐
Clearest video on this topic I’ve ever seen! More please!
Cheers Paul, working on more right now :-)

@@kitesurfcollege Thank you!! I'm heading back out tomorrow on my lunch break from work, gotta break up the daily grind ya know :)
