No I don’t think it was successful if the scale is 1 to Kardashian. I despise Kardashians and Jenners but I can’t pretend they didn’t make an impact on the culture. Kardashians have always known who they are and have capitalized on it, the D’Amelio brand is so random. They simply don’t know who they are so they just thrive on cash grabs. Sadly in 2 years no one will care who they are.

Pretty privilege is so ingrained in society we don't even realise what's happening so we end up asking questions like 'why are these people famous?' when we were the ones that gave them that fame in the first place 🤦
Edit: I realise this isn't everyone but it's still a lot of people who are the ones liking and sharing these videos and honestly it's reassuring that not everyone just likes/shares because of someone's face so we was more of a majority (sorry for any confusion)

No human being should be allowed to have this much money, everyone who has it should give it to charity. I don’t think they should be hated for complaining about being famous and their line of work. Honestly, complaining about being famous is a legitimate thing tk complain about. It really does have serious drawbacks. Everyone will be watching and judging you, one slipup and you’re criticized, mocked, or harassed. People want to hang out with you because your famous, not because they like you. And since your famous, and probably rich too, your life will be in danger, you’ll need bodyguards shadowing you.

As someone who lost like 50 pounds (but is still considered overweight, however it’s distributed in a flattering way, so some people don’t realize) and started learning how to carry myself better, pretty privilege is really gross at its core lol I’ve seen how people treat me better just from losing some weight, and it’s discouraging. Granted, I’ve done a lot of self-work, so that could also be attracting people to me more, but it’s clear that I get more opportunities than I used to, even if they’re much smaller in scale than this. I don’t blame people for utilizing every advantage, besides it’s the fault of others for making it an advantage (if that makes sense). But even when you’re pretty, you have to be somewhat interesting because there will always be someone prettier, or the idea of pretty will change completely.

I can say that Charli did what was right regarding the skincare line. In the reality TV show, Charli mentioned how she tried it on her skin and was breaking out, so she didn't want to be this fraud. One thing I can say was she, for once didn't listen to her PR for a cash grab. The music thing between the sisters was dumb because she made one song and left it just another cash-grab thing for her, while Dixie actually took it seriously.

She failed in the sense that her family desperately wanted to become like the Kardashians, but she's still successful and wealthy in her own right. This family was clearly already well off before her rise to fame, so there's a lack of an "underdog" story that most fans crave, but she's still relatable to young girls from similar backgrounds. Rising to fame through an app, seemingly overnight, is the new "American Dream" and makes fame seem easier to obtain to the average person compared to how it was even just 10 years ago. Internet celebrities 10 years ago were NOT the same as they are now.

They can easily do basically whatever they want now if they limit their lifestyle to upper middle class instead of needing to live like the top 1%. Given they talk about not wanting to work anymore, this seems like the best case scenario for them. Only thing they would need to focus on, is maintaining purpose for themselves

And then it spiraled and now all of the sudden you’re a teenage girl, who we all should know people love to criticize the most, who had millions of people watching you and judging you. I cannot imagine how hard that is and although they obviously have had perks to being famous, judging by how Charlie is slurring her words at 6:49 (among countless other examples I may list later), she is not doing well. They need to have people around them that will keep them grounded and find a balance of things and obviously they don’t have that. Their parents seem to relish in their daughter’s fame and have lost sight of their kids’ well-being.
