We’ve had Thatcherism since 1979 which serves the interests of the (mainly overseas) wealthy. The problem with Thatcherism is that you eventually run out of assets to sell to overseas investors so that they can rip off British consumers.
Incredible talk. Equality of voice is a major issue as LLM’s begins to pretend to be people. I hope to see more talks on constructive economics and how it relates to circular economics. It appears our academic systems are building to something undetermined. On a more critical note, I disagree with the localism and pro-service ideas. How are we supposed to reduce racism, nationalism, and culture wars without proper human connection? And did JFK really serve like a normal person? The neoliberal in me suspects his wealthy family coordinated that just like the monarchy of England. Overall, incredible talk, still not sure what it means for us students that want to contribute to the academic conversation.
I get short booklets in the mail from right wing groups (always well funded by billionaires). The booklets lay out legislation tto "solve" an issue as framed by the right.Easy to read, clear., rational yet emotional. And practical., laying out how to join in taking over local politics to advance this legislation.
Ideal. You have a model to use for restoring balance you only need Word of Mouth and the cost of some personal time. A Pyramid Scheme for democratic process.
I think you gloss over the fact that "alternatives to militarism" don't exist as a political option in the Anglosphere. Obama embraced drone strikes, Hillary bombed Libya, Biden exports weapons to Kyiv and Tel Aviv. Tony Blair went all in on the war in Iraq. I had high hopes for Jeremy Corbyn and his opposition to NATO and nuclear weapons, but.... I think a big explanation for the rise of Populism is that the assumption that Labour and the Democrats constitute any meaningful alternative to Neo-liberal economics and Kissinger-style foreign policy is already disinformation on a level no populist can out-match. I am fifty-two years old and I don't believe a meaningful center-left politics has existed in my lifetime.

Thats when you switch to rent extraction and culture wars
Excellent program. TY.
ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE BEST LSE EVENTS EVER!

10:00 People assume that their racist basis for a choice of school is a proxy for 'good school'. It's heartbreaking.

She's actually endorsing the draft
National service isn’t a draft

Maybe consider mentioning natural resources and biosphere degradation.
Classic liberal+one half liberal= neo liberal (alternative)
Life in the 1950s to 1975 was better. So life under those policies were better.
Socialism
capitalist ltd economics is our solution. See materials
What a crock! Absolute rubbish.
