    Just about to give drafting film a try. Thank you so much for this video, I battle with backgrounds all the time on paper and end up never doing one so I’m definitely going to introduce a background on my first piece! Thank you again.

    Thank you very much for this great demonstration! I'm expecting to get my roll of drafting film some time this week and was wondering about background choices for drawings. You must've read my mind! Again, thanks and looking forward to your next video and seeing how your beautiful pup artwork gets finished!

    I did a picture on drafting film and turned the picture over and added the pastel back ground on the same paper, it worked great, just a thought !

    I adore brusho!! Love the exciting finishes. I’m deciding if I want to use drafting film, I have alcohol inks and they are yummy too! All can be used with this film. I’m wondering about the scratch tool, I haven’t seen them anywhere!! Love your videos too.

    Love this video. I'm totally new at using colored pencils on drafting film. I currently use PanPastel, pastel pencil, and various soft and hard pastels to do landscape and floral paintings. I'm very interested in Prismacolor colored pencils and found your video. Question: So, do you create your background first and then draw on your animal or flower, or do you draw the animal or flower first and then do the background? If the latter, isnt it difficult to not mess up your drawing of animal/flower? Thank you.

      This person has some tips on actually cleaning a kneaded eraser but to be honest I have several here that come in sets that I get sent ad apart from the occasional stretch and fold I throw mine away once it is dirty grey. choosemarker.com/how-to-clean-kneaded-eraser/

    This is wonderful, thank you! I’ve used drafting film but had no idea you could use aqueous media on it! Sorry to hear you are having issues with OMS. I was curious as to whether the OMS would craze the film.

    Thank you so much for all that information. It was so helpful and taught me so much more. I was just wondering how well the panpastels adhere to the drawing film. Is there any need to spray a fixative to it?

    Does the pan pastel adhere well to the drafting film?

    • @AnimalArtbyLAW
      @AnimalArtbyLAW  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it surprised me at the time but it works fantastically. Gives a smooth soft effect. I now use it on my main subjects too

      @@AnimalArtbyLAW I wanted to try using it for a background on a piece I am working on now. I had watched this video previously so thought I would give it a go. When I mentioned doing that in an online artist forum I was bombarded by negative comments about the possible outcome. Some said the pastel wouldn’t stay on the surface others said the dust would transfer onto my color pencil subject and ruin it. Thank you for responding to my inquiry. It is reassuring.

      @@deborahmercer1897 please do let me know which forum. I'm working with Panpastel education team to try to reach out and shoe more people what can be done. As long as it is matte film then there is tooth to grip the pigment. I get no dust at all. In fact I get more dust from my pencils than my panpastels.

    maybe the watercolor pencils didn’t do as well as the pens with water because of the pencil content of a little wax?
