Azure Policy Version Management

We are thrilled to introduce versioning for controlled definition updates through Azure Policy! In a push to empower and simplify policy management, built-in definitions and initiatives will have the ability to host multiple versions. This new development will enhance your ability to govern, enforce and evolve your cloud governance.
Traditionally, each definition in Policy has been associated with a single version, creating a one-to-one relationship between the definition and its version. Anytime there is an update to the built-in definition, any existing assignments would automatically incorporate the changes. However, with this improvement, versioned built-in definitions provide a dynamic solution that houses multiple policy versions under a single, unified definition ID!
