    In all fairness, the enzyme cleaners work best on SLOW drains...this way the formula can loosen up the stool crud and the next day you are supposed to flush with hot water...I used this stuff on several customers slow drains and my own and it works decently

      Exactly. No chemical or enzyme solution can work on a complete clog. Obviously the product need to be in FULL CONTACT with blockage.
      It's the equivalent of using a snake and stopping at the obstruction, not going THROUGH it.

    It would be a better video if you also used the more "industrial" kind of chemicals to see how those fare (which usually create way more violent reactions but for the most part do the job). Also try it in different situations, like in shower pipes that are clogged with hair, dried soap and maybe even paper (people are weird).
    And maybe test this in increments. In 99% of the situations a person will use this to fix a slow drain of their sink/toilet/shower, not fix a complete blockage of their entire plumbing system. Of course there are exceptions, but I don't think most people will wait for their pipes to get completely blocked before trying something basic as using this product or even a plunger.

    hot water and a plunger usually works for me
    I had to unclog the laundry sink and I got it freed up with just that, plugged the drain with a stopper and then filled with lots of hot water and let it sip some, then plunge a little, let it drink, plunge, drink, plunge, then some super aggressive plunging which built the pressure and the pockets between the water dislodged it.

    What do you do when you have a sink with two sides? The plunger isn't going to work if the clog is below the other side.

    This product is designed to dissolve grease, fat, hair etc in slow moving drains. If your drain is packed with vegetables and carbohydrate-y style stuff AND it's no longer slow moving but entirely blocked, it will never work. That is purely because it's not meant for that.
    Try melting some lard/butter/fat, pour it down the drain and let it go hard. See what the product will do then, before you add the hot water.

    The product that you used dissolves Hair, Grease, Soap, and Toilet Paper. For best results, leave overnight to dissolve. You tested this on fresh food in a kitchen sink.
    In general, if the clog is fresh food and not partially decomposed, it will take longer for the enzymes to work. Second, the product line of Green Gobbler does make a Disposal and Drain Cleaner that may work better with food.

      Never used the product but dealt with shipping it. In cases where it leaked GG would dissolve the shipping box to pulp in >1/2hr.
      Dealing with the cleanup was annoying, but can verify seeing it work real time it is effective. No harsh chemical odors either.

  • @XBKLYN
    @XBKLYN ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The stuff works...I've used it on tough kitchen sink clogs where plunging alone didn't work. Just remember it's an enzyme meant to digest organics, not an alkaline-based product, so you have to pour it down the drain and wait a few hours, not 30 minutes! Sorry to all the plumbers out there but one $20 green bottle probably saved me 400 bucks in service calls. Now if I could replace my auto mechanic.....

    Not saying this product would work or not, but when you don't even follow the simple instructions seems kinda pointless to even test it......
    "Sinks and Tubs: Pour one chamber slowly into drain. Allow product to sit in drain for 15-30 minutes or for optimal results let it sit overnight. Then flush with hot tap water for 5 minutes.
    Toilets: Pour both chambers slowly into toilet. Allow product to sit at least 2 hours or preferably overnight. Once water has come down to normal level, flush toilet.
    Note: For difficult obstructions, repeat treatment and allow product to sit in drain overnight. Then flush with hot tap water for 5 minutes. Do not use this product on refinished surfaces and always thoroughly wipe any excess product remaining on surfaces with a wet cloth."

    You used the product in the most unproductive way possible. Didn’t even leave it as it says on the instructions for 2 hours or overnight. Also, the product is meant to dissolve certain things like hair, grease, and stool, not fresh food in an unrealistic way of dumping it. For me it worked perfectly fine without many issues. You just have to read the instructions properly 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I had my kitchen sink clogged once a few years back. Went to go get a plunger locally and could not find one in time. So in an attempt to improvise i used a plastic beer pong cup. Inch of water in the sink, positioned it well and just smashed the cup jamming the entire shockwave into the plumbing. One attempt and it all ran beautifully afterwards.

  • @bonriver9420
    @bonriver9420 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have used green gobbler in my kitchen sink on two different occasions when plunging did nothing to help. I poured one bottle in and let it sit for a few hours and then poured the hot water down. I had to use a second bottle and I left it overnight then poured the hot water over it and the drain cleared completely. On the second occasion, i poured one bottle in the drain and left it overnight, then in the morning poured the hot water over it and it cleared completely. I am very careful not to let anything like big food chunks go down my drain and I don't pour grease down the drain either. I live in a apartment building and unfortunately don't have any control over what the tenants above me shove down their drain. Thankfully, green gobbler has come to the rescue for me twice now.
