I had the previous hood (same model as yours) and was fairly satisfied with it, but it randomly started eating batteries. Like, once a month or quicker. Just, "lithium-crack-whore" level of battery consumption. I had a rechargeable YesWelder hood that was freaking amazing since August 1, 2024...and it died 2 days ago. Less than 6 months. Spent an absurd amount of time on Temu (yeah...shut up. It was still $100!) getting a refund. Just got back from HF. Picked up this one. Your review is definitely heartening, after the last couple years fighting with welding hoods!!
Is there much difference in clarity between the two Vulcan hoods when welding? I have a Jackson Nexgen and my boss had the 10.1 Vulcan. It was actually better when welding than mine. Just wondering if there was a difference in clarity when welding between the two Vulcan helmets.
How do you store yours? I cannot find anything in the manual about turning it off. My first vulcan helmet ran the battery down if I did not set it to grind mode and this new style has a blinking green light in grind mode. Just trying to find out how to turn it off to save battery life. Thanks.
I think it automatically powers off after a set time. I don't do anything to mine other than leave it in the hood bag where random lights won't turn it on

Thank you for the follow up! In many ways these types of follow ups are just as valuable than first impressions.
Thanks! Hopefully plan to do another video for the lenses soon!
Harbor freight actually lists the replacement lenses on their website now!
I just noticed that this weekend. Took em long enough. Should not have taken almost a year to get replacement lenses
They are in store now
@@6wil0liam2yep just bought a pack locally
Please make another video about this hood. Thank you. I'm a beginner welder and I'm thinking about buying this hood. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the update hopefully they have one in stock, on my way with the 20% coupon haha
Wish I had a 20% off coupon when I bought mine 🤣

There is an improvement in clarity but most of the differences I'd say is in color and viewing area and there seems to be less distortion.
