This was after passing on the wasteland after verbally acknowledging it would work well with a wrenn and six, only to get wrenn in the very next pack and then double down on the passing of it. Then later gets stomping ground (on the wheel) passing arid mesa, taiga and huntmaster which at that point would've looked much better than pia and kiran. It was rough watching this all play out 🤣.
A nice quality of life improvement to CF vids would be balancing the volume of the first ~2 sec intro to the content. The intro is always deafening compared to the person speaking.
Not that it was wrong to pass any of these individually but it is interesting looking back over the draft that Strip Mine, Wasteland, Fastbond, Wrenn and Six, Crucible of Worlds, Crop Rotation, and Elvish Reclaimer were all available, along with the Ramunap Excavator and Fetch Lands we did get (and Knight of the Reliquary too maybe). The colours we'd be playing for this also set up picking Minsc and Boo.
Reid likes to draft sensibly. If it was LSV, he would've picked fastbond P1P2 for sure I think. There was also Dark Depths / Thespian Stage, Oracle of Mul Daya and Upheaval + Narset / Memory Jar. Picking strip mine over black lotus would've been hard though!
passing the 5th pick minsc and boo was ludicrous in my opinion. The synergy with M&B and runaway steam kiln is sick. It turns the + ability into add 4 counters, add 3 red post combat
@@Dragonbear82 Yeah, fortunately Minsc is so busted it doesn't need any synergies, but with itself. One of the most busted cards ever printed, no joke. If you can't immediately answer it, you pretty much lose next turn if opp untaps as they deal 4 damage and draw FOUR cards while still keeping the PW for more uses. Or dome you for another 7. Just absurd. In an aggro deck it's even more ludicrous since your opponent is under pressure to even be able to attack it. Definitely a wrong pick and as Reid alluded to himself while drafting, it's a pick that may seem silly after he gets a few more drafts in and I'm sure he would 100% pick Minsc here every time now.
There was actually a crazy lands deck in this draft that went uncontested. Strip mine, wasteland, tireless tracker, 3 fetches, wren and six, ramunap excavator, life from the loam, bazaar of Baghdad, courser of kruphix and a bunch more
the way i think about Krark is that he multiplies the cost of every spell by 1.5 but then doubles the effect. like reid said, negative tempo but positive card advantage. there are some edge case scenarios with him, like krark + counterspells is recipe for disaster but krark + bonus round/mirari conjecture/thousand year storm copying effects is great, but for the most part, i think it's fair to think of him as a straight 4/3 value multiplier
I think you took everything in a decent direction, but imobyou could have had the most insane sort of fastbond u/g ramp deck had you have gone into forcing a heartbeat of spring type mess: -wrenn and six + wasteland -fast bond -upheaval -multiple on color duals -jace tms Etc Everything turned out good since your hand was forced, just interesting to note that there were two totally rock solid archetypes even out of the totally awful pack that you got
Ultimate guard needs to make the 80+ sidewinders more available... I want a greyish silver sidewinder but the one I got is like very very dark Greg kinda annoying... Wish they would just sell their own product on their website. Regardless of all that awesome vid.

Yup. A normalizer on the voice would be good practice.

Except that Minsc & Boo can only put counters on a creature with Trample or Haste so that wouldn't work.
