Just got my first Fujifilm camera, and first camera in 10 years. Stoked to get back into it. Loved this video, keep making them and share your photos. You have a good eye.
very much agree. as good as phones are at so many things, I often find i enjoy using dedicated devices much much more. a real camera is just so much nicer to use and its great that the memory card is only the pictures you want, unlike my phone which is crowded with screenshots and random saved photos and junk.
AF is alright. I mean it doesn't track your retina, but it doesn't need to for static stuff. What I do is, use the centre af point, with the smallest box and then focus and recompose. It's a 23mm lens, so depth of field isn't that narrow even at f2. I rarely miss focus when I do this.
I also have x100s. I got it 3 years ago before the Fujifilm hype for 12,000 PHP(Philippine peso) ≈ 200 USD. I brought it everywhere I went but ever since I got my first Ricoh GR 2 years ago, it's the only camera I bring if it's not for work. One thing which Fujifilm beats Ricoh in is that it has better colors and the files are easier to work with in Lightroom. I've been eyeing Sony RX1 because there are times at night it's too dark for Fujifilm to handle so it would be nice with a fullframe camera. For now I use Sony a7s with FE Zeiss 35mm f2.8 at night when I don't want to use a flash.
I would hardly call the X100 series a point-and-shoot. Calling it a "fixed-lens mirrorless" would be more accurate. It has a manual focus lens, a manual aperture ring, a manual shutter dial, a manual exposure comp. dial, and a range of ISO settings, among other controls. That is not a "point-and-shoot." A point-and-shoot is that you go out, press the shutter and let the camera do the rest and you get what you get. That's not what you're describing here (and there's nothing wrong with that, it's just a different thing).
@osoperezoso2608 more like tomato potato. I can put a Z6III with a pancake lens in full auto in one hand and shoot. That does not make it a point and shoot. Point and shoot implies a form factor and feature set (or lack thereof). Words matter.
Most cameras that are labeled as “point-and-shoot” still allow you to manually focus, manually change the aperture and ISO and shutter speed. The only difference is the X100 has those controls physically on the camera instead of having to go through a bunch of menus to get that control
@@csongorballa1846 thanks! you really can’t go wrong with any camera if you’re just starting out. The fujifilm is a little more complicated to use but it’s a great way to learn some of the basics
I think the main point is what he meant, around "I want a new camera, and all of the internet was hype with x100v and x100vi". and yeah, a lot of the short-form video is mirrored or a re-upload from multiple sources, including tiktok.

Potato potato. It's a small/compact camera. Any camera that you can hold with one hand can be a point and shoot. You can point and shoot it.

Do people actually say with a straight face "Tik Tok was recommending me..."
