still tryin to find a way to get the missing pieces to my bmf falcon missing cockpit cover, and same with my at te, been debating getting smugglers run falcon, buut was away from collecting and such at that time, some paint app improvements, but i mainly want the tfa dish, got 4 n1's escorting the razor tho, can not wait for the ghost, seen it in person, so BIG
Thanks for the side by side 👍 Although these two vehicles may share similar DNA, to me, they are as different as chalk and cheese. I think it's because the Naboo Starfighter was made for children and for those in their late-twenties who collected figures in the 70's and 80's and got caught up in buying Star Wars vehicles and figures again, whilst the N1 was made for collectors, who have a bit of money in their pockets. So different demographics. Both are real nice vehicles though. Just made for different but overlapping markets.
Thanks for the comparison with the 2012 version of this ship. I still like the original 1999 version because of the electronic sound effects, but the 2012 version was a huge upgrade in terms of the canopy and the fact that the whole R2 unit could fit inside. The original just had a non-removable head. I really wish Hasbro would do more vehicles. They have really lagged behind in recent years. Back in the day one of the coolest things about collecting Star Wars toys was the vehicles. Really enjoyed this video!👍
A great design! I do have the 1999 release , I love the sliding canopy on your one :-) "Hey wait for me" "Anakin stay where you are you'll be safe there" "But I " "Stay in the cockpit" Great video :-)
I love watching your videos. My passion for details are like yours. I just don't have the time to do videos like you. So, I live bicuriously through you. I just got my N1 today and I love it..
Excellent comparison man! And thanks for the shout out. I'd love for Hasbro to repack that 2012 version, definitely could use a few for the Naboo shelf ✨✨✌😎✌✨✨Definitely seems like they took a lot of sculpting ideas from this improved 2012 version but definitely knocked it out of the park with Mando's ride.
I got that 2012 one when I started collecting for just £10! I actually want the original one cos of the sounds. Yet to open the new one - saving that for Xmas day!
I just recently got into collecting these ships. I always loved the original N1 since I was a kid but I can’t even find a 2012 model for sale online, only the 1999 model
I do enjoy my original Episode 1 item. Lights and sounds! It’s yellow colour isn’t quite as bright and maybe more screen accurate, but I’ll take the update if I can get it 😀
The original one was $29.99 in the US. I can't recall what it was in Canada where I am but I honestly remember it being that same price. Although the new one is totally tricked out and looks awesome, comes with the green guy, buckethead, and the very nice stand, that markup to $132 US - it's just a bit too rich for me. Maybe if I wasn't totally tapped out on all the other stuff I've been ordering 😅😂 Time to breathe a little until Jabba and 8D8 comes out. Sidenote - Doug Chiang is a genius.
If I remember correctly, you are right. The original Naboo Starfighter was $29.99, which included electronic sound effects and lights. I still have that version, and while the new Mando version is very cool the price tag does seem inflated. I paid that price, but I honestly think it's probably only worth around $70 max.
According to the official Star Wars vehicles guide, the astromech’s head extends upwards out of the body and that’s how it goes into the N-1’s droid port.
Haha, I know man 😆😉 pretty sure I mention that too (except I didn't mention the book) but yep, that's defo where I'd heard it came from! Crazy though innit. Book not cannon now we realise drouds fut the space sideways on! Haha 😆
These are both great ships.....to which I have neither......yet. However I did pick up the original Phantom Menace version, boxed for a good price. I won't be getting that until my birthday at the end of the month. I know it doesn't have the sliding cockpit but I'm ok with that......I am looking to pick the two versions up in this video at some point in the future.
I’ve decided I’m NOT gonna sit around, and wait anymore. I’m gonna build my own Fondor Haulcraft. I want to use sheet metal, with tac wields. Polishing where needed. I doubt I’ll get too into lighting. I’m not good at electronics. The most challenging thing will be the cockpit. We’ll see. But… I’m gonna do it. I’ll let you know when it’s done. Even if it’s a fail. It’s gonna take awhile, but I’ll get it done… 🙏👍🏼
could retool the new n1 to make the naboo one, or upgrade mold a bit i guess of old one like some other tvc ones, the hk is a let down in star wars hero 2 pack, raven isnt tho
know ppl hate it becuz of it being an ST item, but think the t-70 poe x wing from tvc is the best, like have it in the more nornal ish colors, maybe the gray and blue, or his black and orange ver. are stuff like from the movies, like the new pilot suits, and some of the first order outfits
Modified though surely? Like as a template? Again, I don't know how it works... but surely they modify existing moulds etc given scales of certain parts are so similar.... 🤔
@@OnlyOneKenobi when they design the new N-1 they may get one of the 2012 versions and take measurements to make sure they interact with one another well, but no parts of the mold are reused or modified.’. For the new N-1 a digital model is created in software, a 3d print is produced as a prototype/representation of the product. Once it’s approved, the 3d file is converted into a cnc file, where a cnc milling machine cuts the negative mold into metal. molten plastic is then injected into the mold and then ejected from the mold. The plastic parts are then assembled and packaged. No part of this process involves the 2012 versions mold. The intended purpose of using molds is to ensure uniformity during production. So they are inherently unmodifiable. They reliably produce a consistent object over and over until the mold begins to wear down. On occasion a mold can be modified by adding parts to it, to block certain areas from being filled etc. In short, the 2023 N-1 is completely independent from the 2012 version. They just took care to make sure they are roughly the same size.

Actually I think I was mistaken. They are close to the same colour in your previous comparison of the yellow ships. 🤓✌️
Naboo starfighter will always be my favourite ship next to the x wing of course
