    I've been doing deliveries on an eboard in NYC for two years now to make some extra cash in between college classes. Thought I'd give some tips:
    1) someone mentioned this, but get a delivery bag(s) and keep a normal backpack on you. I use 3 large tote style insulated delivery bags, and take them as I need form my backpack depending on how many orders in one delivery trip I have. With your backpack, keep a charger with you, water bottle, anything else you may need.
    --keep the delivery bags on your wrist or hand when full, don't use boxy delivery bag backpacks on a board, it makes you too wide to squeeze through tight spots, and throws off your balance.
    2) instead of going home, take your charger and stop at a Starbucks or similar to charge so you can get right back on the road once charged.
    3) There's absolutely no rush, conserve battery, and be more safe by staying no more than 10-15 miles per hour. When doing deliveries, you're expected by Uber to be going normal pedal bike speed, not electric speed. Our boards can go fast, but it doesn't mean we should be shredding down the streets when delivering. Take your time, and be CONSTANTLY observant of your surroundings.
    4) Yellow cabs are the most dangerous and impatient drivers in this city, avoid them at all costs. (Every accident I've had doing this job has been caused by an NYC taxi driver.) You WILL have an accident, fall etc at some point, there is no avoiding it. Learn how to properly fall off a skateboard if you don't know already.
    5) communicate with your customer about your ETA, wait times, give updates as your waiting for the order. People like this, and will often tip higher.
    6) take advantage of bus only lanes and bike lanes when you can, if your on the road in traffic, keep up with traffic speed! holding up cars behind you will aggravate drivers, and they'll try to dangerously swerve around you after a while.
    Lastly, constantly monitor the ground in front of you as well, our boards can't take bumps and potholes like the bikes and EUC's can, even with cloud wheels.
    Stay safe and good luck!

      Hey, man. What eboard would you recommend would be a good starter one for doing uber eats? Do you still do it now, by any chance?

    • @KandiKlover
      @KandiKlover 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nah tote bags are dumb. Just get the insulated cube backpack. Also an esk8 with a swappable battery you can charge out of board and keep going is key.

  • @TSC47

    its so good to see someone do the same thing I do with my eboards. though if you plan to keep doing this because it can be fun and can be a good side hustle. here's what I would recommend.
    1. please get a delivery bag, God forbid if you fall, or somehow drop the food off your wrists this can be a serious issue for many reasons. I didn't have a delivery bag the first time I tried this too, but getting one really helps especially if a delivery bag has cup holders. also it makes you look more professional and will keep the food safer. though if a bag is small enough to hold with just your wrist or hand sometimes that's fine. but for big bags? no.
    2. be sure to slow down a bit. I like to go fast too on my board and getting there on time is important but most people I delivered to were chill and understanding. some even complimented and were happy to see I used a e board too. If you take your time it helps you to focus and watch out for hazards on and off the road.
    3. Get a longer range eboard, though expensive it is worth it as you can continue deliveries more though you can still use the first one if you like and when the battery dies, swap boards and continue on. I do this with my boards when I want to continue delivering. that way you can charge the first one as your out delivering on your second one.
    you made alot more money than I did on my first day and I hope you keep doing it! its awesome and so was this video. :)

      Hey, man. Randomly saw your comment here for a few months ago. Not sure if you're still doing uber eats on an eboard.
      I'm currently doing uber eats while walking and looking to see if an eboard would be a viable upgrade. I think it's cheaper than a ebike and EUC and a lot cooler. lol
      For doing Uber Eats, what eboard would you recommend? Does it depend on each rider?

    • @TSC47
      @TSC47 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PaoloWalksAndStuff I would safely recommend a possway t3 or something similar or better than that. it depends on your budget really. yes I still do uber eats deliveries time to time. Yes it can depend on the rider especially weight and conditions of your area's road and weather. If you live in a city where you can safely ride around without much issue. Id hate having to walk honestly, so yes an eboard will be way better and not only that but fun and possibly make you more money quicker.

    • @PaoloWalksAndStuff
      @PaoloWalksAndStuff ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TSC47 Thanks, man. Yeah, I also do uber eats in the city and it looks like an eboard is viable enough. I myself don't mind the walking but there's just such a limitation to it in how much you can make during lunch or dinner rush.
      Thanks for recommending the possway T3. seems pretty ideal and better than the cheaper options because of the mileage it can do. And apparently it's easy to swap batteries? That's great for doing uber eats?
      Did you ever do that? Get two battery for your board? And are you still riding this board now?

    Excited about this video. I’m an Uber driver in nyc and trust me.. no one here should be doing eats in a car.. I can’t help but think I should reduce my overhead plus reduce my stress duringday time hours by expanding past rideshare, and doing Uber eats with an electric board or bike.. most there use an e-bike.. I’m thinking an eboard would be cool as if it’s small enough you could carry it everywhere and not worry about locking it up.. but then I worry about holding all the bags, waterproofness of the board, plus the range. And of course the price..

As so...you should upgrade to a used hybrid bike with a large crank...for speed and less pressure after hitting momentum...to make max $$$. I quit a 60k job and now make it differently but more on my terms...Just some tipa

    As a person who owns an electric skateboard, i can definitely confirm that skateboards > bikes. It's so fun to zoom past bikers who struggle to go up hills/go any faster than 15km/h. Riding an electric skateboard has been such a comfort, except for the constant worry of getting wheel bite or crashing into a car :(

    Sweet video dude, I am waiting to be approved and will be making a similar video with an emountain board I built. No worries for any rocks or holes and about 40 miles range it should be a good test. The long term idea is to try to do this after work since I ride for free anyway, maybe after a little while the board will pay itself off.

    • @THEK1NGSCLAN
      @THEK1NGSCLAN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok you get paid your base pay immediately after fulfilling the delivery (usually 2-3 dollars) any and all tips get processed about an hour after the delivery has been completed because people have the ability to add an additional tip, or even subtract (although rare unless scammer or Karen) within that time frame. You can cash out instantly whatever money you have in your account (at a $.50 fee) or you can wait for your weekly payout which occurs Monday at 4 am however that takes my bank a day at least to process

      That’s quite interesting. So if you’re in need of extra cash quickly like for a weekend getaway you can just work hard for a few days doing deliveries and then cash out?
