What an awesome job! This is something I want to start doing, canning. It’s good to know that it can actually be done with frozen fruit not just fresh. Thank you for sharing that with us. Appreciate your knowledge.
Hi Jessica and sweet family! Perfect way to get the fruit preserved and in your pantry rotation. I’ve even pressure canned corn and green beans before when my garden didn’t do so well that year. Got to get it preserved and in your pantry for winter. Haha, Blu wanted in on the action. Have a blessed night everyone!
Hi sweet one! I never knew you could can frozen fruit. You do learn something every day...lol! Now I want to know how that honey tastes...interesting! All that fruit looks soooooooo good! You look so cute in your overalls. Great video! Big hugs and many blessings!!!
Honestly I am excited to have you share these details. I had seen several freeze tomatoes, so they could do something with in the winter months when they had more time. I also had one living off my pantry year we didn’t like the canned pie mixes for peaches and preferred simple canned peaches to choose to make crisps or pies with, which got me wondering about canning more basics for the versatility instead. My home grown berries come in small batches so freezing felt like my only option. So nice with others sharing their knowledge and experience to get our heads into different boxes to meet the bigger goals. Woo Hoo! Thank you!
Hi Jessica. Good to see you today. This was a great video. I love to can but have never done any fruit like you are doing but boy after watching you I’m going to give it a try. You explain everything so I can understand and not get confused. Thank you so much. See you again soon. Take care from Cape Cod✌️🇺🇸🌸

Thank you, Jessica, for another excellent video. I did make my own jams for a while. Blessings to you and the family!! That is a lot of fruit to process at one time, and you have shown us a multitude of methods!! Thank you
OMG 🤯 I never knew you could can frozen fruit!! This is my favorite video so far this month…sorry in advance for all the questions. 🫣 1) how much headspace? 2) is it 15 mins for both pints & quarts? 3) if using sugar vs honey, is it the same amount? Please share your cherry pie recipe. 🍒 Thanks for the tip on ordering the raspberry pieces vs the whole berries from Azure! 👍🏻 Lastly, I never knew you could actually wash the jars with a little soap & water! 🎉 SO MUCH GREAT INFO! 💜
1-1/2 inch 2- I did 15 that’s for quarts. It I had some pints in there mixed in so everyone in the pool at the sane time! 3-no I think it’s different I got it out of the ball cook book.
Hello, this was such a fun video to watch. I learned so much about canning fruit that i did not know. Seems so much different than watching my mother and aunts can when i was a child. I think that i will be trying this frozen method. Thank you so much for all the information you gave. Definitely going to be giving this a try. Maybe not 150 lbs worth, lol. Just amazed at how much one person can get done in a couple of days.
Purchasing frozen fruit from Azure is a great idea. I will say, that even in California(not that far from headquarters) I have had very poor results from boxes of fresh fruit. They have come half spoiled, highly bruised and even if I use them the next day I lose at least half the box making them TWICE as expensive. I love azure and order all the time but keep it in mind when purchasing fresh boxes of fruit. I could not afford the spoilage.
It’s a hard thing the fresh for sure. We risk it only because up here even if we loose 2/2 it’s still cheaper. It’s hard to find good fresh organ fruit we can afford anywhere. I love azure too
I’m a new subscriber. I stumbled across your video in my feed. I never thought of canning from frozen. Thank you for the idea. I’ll be watching you all the time now. I only have a few I watch constantly along with Acre Homestead. So you will be one of those chosen few❤
@modernhomesteadalaska I watched it! Many thanks. Such a fascinating machine. And it has become pretty clear it is an integral one for your homestead. Thanks!
Hi Jess. This is my third attempt at commenting on your video..........ugh. Very informative video for us casual canners. My husband and I are diabetic so I have been making freezer jam with different fruits with a sugar alternative as it sets up better for me than a traditional canning method. Have you ever tried that? Those freeze dried cherries look delicious!!
I know I went to respond, comment was gone, went through a different process to find it gone! So I’ll just say thank you! Before I don’t get the chance
Another question. Or questions........ Now that you have the fruit packed in juice how do you use it. Do you use it in baking or for fruit salad? And you said that you really wanted the peach juice. How do you use that? Also do you think it would work with a sugar free sweetener instead of honey? Can you open this fruit and blend for jam? Sorry.....a lot of coffee this a.m.
So I plan to make some into bbq sauce, pie, just anything you want to make canned fruit into, cobblers….. I want the peach honey lemon juice to add to tea. I big pitcher of ice tea. As a treat every now and again
So I see you are very knowledgeable about canning preserving produce/fruit.. my question is is did you have prior knowledge of doing this before you moved to Alaska? I so enjoy watching watching you videos😊
I learned to water bath and had a canning company where I sold fruit butters, so that’s not new pressure canning I learned here and freeze drying so on. Newer skills skills
This is the thickest honey I’ve ever seen. Does honey change the flavor of the fruit also do you taste the lemon? Would love to know if the honey from Hawaii has a good flavor

Title is fine, it’s a month long challenge! I say at the start of the month it’s my goal to freeze dry something everyday or in every video possible, as the challenge is to preserve daily. I do preserve frozen fruits in the video. All good! Good canning practice! Please watch all the way through before warning viewers of an opinion that’s not true. It’s not possible to title every single step you take in a single video. The vast majority of the video IS canning from frozen there for the title is accurate!
