Trips just like this are why i have lived in Maine my whole life and will never leave. Truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place. Great video Joe! Hope to see more
Love this Joe. Not many fellas like Donnie around anymore to pass along their wisdom and stories of the North Maine Woods. Nothing like it on earth. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. My summers were spent fishing on Moosehead, the Roach Ponds, Wilson Pond, Chesuncook Lake and the labyrinth of streams in this area when I was a kid in the 1970's. This brings back memories of how much my Dad loved that area.
What an adventure it must have been! Donnie was great I could listen to him talk about his history all day! Weird that this video hasn't gotten a million views, if you're reading this comment you should share it with as many as possible to help it reach people.
That's funny, I have never seen anybody else making American chop suey. My Grandma used to make it all the time and now I carry on the tradition. I have no idea where she got the recipe. I love it and make it all the time.
Me and my parents always have meatloaf sandwiches for a tailgate lunch while in northern Maine bird hunting. Then partridge for dinnah. That just brought back some good memories. I really enjoy your video’s Joe. It’s nice to tag along on your adventure’s when I can’t be out on my own. Keep up the good work👍
I just watched Part 1 and Part 2 in the wee hours this morning. Great videos! My father in law showed me around a lot of areas up there, did some hunting and fishing and a lot of just riding. Brought back great memories. Thanks for taking me along!
To be continued!!? Awww man it was so good I hate having to wait! Good information from our older generation. Sad a lot is being lost forever. Can’t wait for the ice fishing
@@JoeHollandFishingI haven't seen Donnie in a couple of years sold him many axes threw the yrs please tell him I said hi thanks mark from dike in down east Maine
Great to see you back on the Tube, Joe!!! Thanks for introducing us to another character in the saga of the north Maine woods. What stories have flowed up and down that river. Reminds me of the stories from Edmund Ware Smith and his band of adventurers, Jakes Rangers. A mid coast man, as well, from Damariscotta. A lot of history in that river corridor. Looking forward to the next segment!!
Excellent. Thanks for this. Love hearing about the old times. Donnie is a great outdoor companion. I have a hard time finding buddies who are "right into it". I got one good buddy... We fish and camp and have fun but most guys just aren't into it anymore.
Joe, great video glad to see you are posting. When you were on the golden road you drove past the road our camp is on. It is on the Greenville road and our camp is on ragged lake. You should really try ice fishing there this winter there are big splake and salmon in there. Great vid
Great video, I love when I see Maine being showcased on youtube! Insta like and sub, yer in my neck o the woods! Ebeemee pond is where my gramps camp was. His neighbor and best friend years ago was named Al from Mass. Couldn't be the same guy right?
Millinocket is my hometown...lived here for 35 yrs...I work on the Golden road...God's country is a good way to explain the stretch of country
Absolutely I couldn’t agree more.

Welcome back! It's been several months since you last did a video. Do you typically only make videos in the wintertime?
Correct. I work everyday no days off for six or seven months then just make videos all winter and a few in the fall now.
