We place people on pedestals, solely based on their talent. While we turn a blind eye to whether they were good to the people in their lives and those around them. I really appreciate Chris Rivers for sharing his story and truth. Domestic & child abuse victims are left to deal with so much trauma.
At the end of the day big pun will always be on that pedestal whether you like it or not. These are bullets attacking someone that is already dead, all of this shit is sad and true but that's what makes you a better man in the future and chris is damn well a better man than Christopher
Chris if tou ever get to read this.... Just wanted to tell you hiphop really needs you right now. You have the keys to bring back the real hip hop heads.
My "father" did the same thing to me and my brothers. I wish I could say it was because of drugs or alcohol, but it wasn't. He enjoyed torturing us. He loved that we lived in a constant state of terror. I forgave him, but he is not allowed in my life.
Raul Perez It's rough still. We're all in our 30's. So he is no longer able to beat us. Instead, he resorts to trying to turn sibling against sibling. He only likes you in front of other people. He tries to take credit for our successes and the moment he is displeased with you, he withdraws his love from you and goes on a family campaign in attempt to get the family to turn their backs on you. So you know who really has the power. I thank the Lord for my brothers and their ability to see through his games. I no longer hurt over this matter because my true father, God, furiously loves me.
This song bought me to tears. As a fan of Pun, its hard to see him the same way. The visuals communicated his emotions and perspectives clearly. Hold your head brother.
I was raised in a very abusive home to. Although I've put my childhood behind me, this almost brought a tear to my eye brother. I remember my father chocking my mother with a metal hanger around her neck as he dunked her head in the toilet, I remember screaming, "don't hurt my mom!" What did my father do? He kicked me on my chest and chick with his work boots. I was only 6. IDK why you would do that to your own son, I would never do that to my son he's 5 and we have a very strong beautiful relationship. I'm giving my son the relationship I would have loved to have with my father. Anyway I'm rambling on now. Much love Chris keep making good music brother.
Thank you for sharing your story and Thank you for not allowing your experience to consume your heart with hate. Wishing you a life of happiness with your family.
I’m a die hard fan of pun but half of the people don’t like his son talking about his dad, his just a talented, and I grew up in violence I respect this song it’s very mature and that new one he has about loving his girl damn make me appreciate my wife, God bless you kid keep up the good work

POWERFUL!!!! Respect Chris Rivers. Son of a Legend. Even though I am a Big Pun fanatic, I understand the falsehoods of worshiping idols, who deserve less than that. you are breaking off from your toxic roots, establishing your own identity - despite domestic abuse, that would have crippled most dudes, left them scarred for life and confused, yet, you are here and talking about your feelings, giving hope to other abused people, letting them know the real truth, that "hurt people, hurt people". And until we break our conditioning we will remain silent victims. I dig your style, young man, you represent real Hip Hop, like your Dad, but in your own way, without an equal. Wow... I never knew this. The mom shouldn’t have stuck around, either. As parents, we’re obligated to protect our kids, and people who stay in abusive relationships are just as guilty as the ones who abuse. There are too many programs and too much help out there to say it’s too hard to leave. It may be hard, but you owe it to yourself and your children, most of all, to leave.
Every parent has done that whether man on women or women on man, in front of the kids too at least five times so cant hate on ANY HUMAN INCLUDING BIG PUN, WE JUST HUMAN, I NEVER PUT A FINGER ON MY WIFE ONLY TO BLOCK HER, SHE KICKED MY ASS MANY TIMES LOL

I felt like I was watching my past. My mother, brother and I were all severely beat by my dad on the daily. I've seen the worst when it came to my mother. And that kid with the arm cast reminded me of myself back when I was 5 and my dad threw me on the wall, breaking my collar bone. I grew up pretty mangled with broken teeth, and going to school where it was no different. Got beat up and treated like shit. Never knew how to stand up for myself. My brother and I got taken away, and taken in by a foster family, then later adopted. It was no different there either. My point is.. If you can't handle yourself, nor the set backs of having kids, don't have kids. Most of all, don't have sex if you cant be responsible adults. Especially when you handcuff your own kids under kitchen tables and bed frames while staying "busy" and having sex for hours in the living room, then later fighting...and beating the whole family up. My parents, both sets of them sucked.. And my whole life sucked and it still sucks. I appreciate you a lot Chris. Thank you. Would love to see you back in Edmonton!

Chris i know it took everything in you to write this song and do this video, BLESS UP KING, I HAD TO HUG MY SON AFTER WATCHING THIS. THANK YOU!!!!✌✌✌✌✌✌
WOWWWWWWWWWW. Thats all I got. 1st off the beat is TOUGH AF, 2ndly, DAMN YOU Chris!!! I cant believe you made this grown ass man cry. This is something I hold dear to me because of my early childhood. Luckily I got out at an early age which is more than I can say for some of you poor unfortunate souls out there. Just remember that there is always light at the end of the tunnel and someone to always pull you out of that river (no pun intended) that you been drowning in for so long. Always speak up against abuse no matter WHAT kind of abuse be it child or spousal or even sexual. Never be afraid to speak up even if its against your own parents! You have a voice too no matter how young or old you are and you are the light that God created to shine brightly over the darkness. A few bumps and bruises don't make you any less of a person but DOES make you a survivor which makes the abuser a coward and powerless because thats all they are. Show your strength and have no fear because that is what darkness feeds off and the brighter your light shines and the afraid you become, the more powerless the abuser becomes. So be strong and shine bright because you're priceless and you're awesome. You're a child of God which already makes you awesome anyway so NEVER show fear, be strong, stand up and speak up against abuse. Oh and for you assholes who unliked this track are probably taking it personal because you're abusers yourselves

My song🔥🔥🔥 LOVE Chris Rivers I got to see him live wit Whiskers, Uncle Murda, Dom Flamingo I don't even know who he is lol, but Jada is my favorite Emcee, and The LOX killed that show playin' a few Songs from when their newest album "Filthy America" was released, but when they played their Classics from "We R The Streets" & Ruff Ryder songs Dope Money, and a few other bangers in Philly that was a live Ass Concert🔥🔥🎵🎶🎤💯💯💯
Chris, your flow when rapping like this, is the best I've ever heard you, You're incredible at rapping fast don't get me wrong, But the breath control on this is great. really really enjoyed the song. hope it's released anything you had built up and made you feel better. Peace man.
Wow I was that kid that seen and lived through this exact same stuff, I pray that no kid goes un heard, and know just because you grew up like that you don’t have to be like that, you might grow up with insecurities or short comings that others won’t understand but you can get through it and be better than any man or woman who put you through that. I am not the best parent in the world and because of this I failed in a lot of things even in parenting, in ways my kids won’t understand, but I keep going and making sure my kids won’t feel empty and unloved like I did, Father’s and mothers keep pressing, kids keep faith and hope and you will shine, life’s beautiful. I hated these people that drug my sister and myself through this, I felt guilty for years because I felt like I didn’t protect my sister from this, I was old enough and I left running at times down the street leaving my freakin sister alone there. I always hated myself for that and I prayed to god to erase that guilt and I always hoped that my sister knows that I wish I could have done more, she grew up to be an awesome mother and sister. This does effect your life no lie, but the outcome can be changed, just be strong and have faith. Your not alone even if you feel like you are. Me and my sister were left by our father and raised in that hell by my mother and her boyfriends who did that to her and us, but now we both are trying every day to be better parents and to love life. God bless and great song
Wow. Breathtaking all around. Not only the best song Chris Rivers dropped until this day to me, one of the best hip hop songs all around. Honest, authentic, vulnerable, powerful. I think this song will help many abused children like him find strength in it. Everything is right with Chris Rivers. The future. Hip Hop has something to say again. Thank you.
You all can say that this song aint about his father, but he went thru so much its easy to see the emotion when making this song came from what his father did.
edwin gonzalez Sorry to hear that this happened to you, but So Glad to see those words use to, because that means you are out of the situation, keep on breaking those chains, You Are Priceless

the society we live in today is solely surrounded by people obsessed with social media. bullies, popularity, fame. people put these things first before their children and family. REMEMBER LIFE is given once thats what makes it precious.
Just earlier today I was thinking that hip-hop no longer moves me emotionally, then you come along and make man cry! Salute brother! I know a lot of us can relate to this one here, you are truly one of the greats. Peace
listened to the album. good job.. been a fan of urs ever since i seen a video a little over 10yrs ago of u rappin in the studio at 10... u were good then for ur age. amazing song nice verse on the Wu album.
Very powerful video and message. I never had to endure the physical abuse from my father, but definitely the verbal and mental abuse. This lets others see and realize, they are not alone. Thank you Chris for speaking up, and being the eye opening voice of thousands all over the world. Peace.
I gotta say bro your lyrics are just one of the best in this dead dying rap era. Always remember that your father had his own demons we all know who pun was there's no need to throw dirt on him bro. You have skills don't sell out to make a hit may you shine as bright as the sun. BxMob still rep!!.
Powerful imagery, the father is probably a victim too thus why he was happy to see the peanut butter and upset when there was none, and the image of the child throwing the hands up in defense showing the father is a product of a brutual system of abuse deep stuff
Another heavy hitter, it's brings a strong message to those who hid the pain on what goes on in their household....at one point and time in my life I also indured that kind of pain much respect to Chris Rivers.
Support you Chris. My father had his flaws too and music has helped me to unleash my anger about it. Doesn't mean we don't love them , it just means we need to purge. Respect brother.
gary rue You sir are a true Survivor, I'm glad to see You stayed strong and realized that holding the anger and sadness in wasn't good, and you know the meaning of the words to forgive not for them but for yourself, Keep On Breaking Those Chains, You Are Priceless

Chris i know it took everything in you to write this song and do this video, BLESS UP KING, I HAD TO HUG MY SON AFTER WATCHING THIS. THANK YOU!!!!✌✌✌✌✌✌
This made me cry! BEAUTIFUL SONG!
Music with content and a message is so rare now, GREAT JOB!!!
This is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. New York stand up.

This was brave as hell Chris. May you and your family never experience this pain again.
A powerful message. God spoke through this man. This was my childhood. It still hurts because people are still pretending that it didn't happen. Thank you for the message. God Bless!
What sucks is that putting this kinda personal info is what may get him the spotlight he has been so deserving of all these years he's been spitting. Keep making good songs, God! We know you can spit, just keep making good songs like this!

Chris, your flow when rapping like this, is the best I've ever heard you, You're incredible at rapping fast don't get me wrong, But the breath control on this is great. really really enjoyed the song. hope it's released anything you had built up and made you feel better. Peace man.
Bishop He isn't rapping fast
tase chris usually raps fast on tracks sounds like his dad from the speed to the breathing straight up but he slowed way down in this one

I remember when many of that happened to my boys and I .
Thanks you the song

Thank you.

Beautiful song brotha, heart felft
the society we live in today is solely surrounded by people obsessed with social media. bullies, popularity, fame. people put these things first before their children and family. REMEMBER LIFE is given once thats what makes it precious.
Such a Powerful Song!!!
Chris your a Better Emcee then Your Father You have alot more Range & Emotion in your Music.
Peace.
Keep doing more songs like this. We knew you can spit, but this is something we can feel, salute
I gotta say bro your lyrics are just one of the best in this dead dying rap era. Always remember that your father had his own demons we all know who pun was there's no need to throw dirt on him bro. You have skills don't sell out to make a hit may you shine as bright as the sun. BxMob still rep!!.
Wow.....goosebumps...
My favorite song off Delorean. You are becoming an Underground Rap King.
I don’t get how this song never made it big really?
Can never watch this without crying through the whole thing.
Kenny Martinez I'm sorry to hear that about your past but glad to say the words past, Head Up, Keep Breaking Those Chains, You Are Priceless
Deep track @ChrisRiversMusic 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Support you Chris. My father had his flaws too and music has helped me to unleash my anger about it. Doesn't mean we don't love them , it just means we need to purge. Respect brother.
gary rue You sir are a true Survivor, I'm glad to see You stayed strong and realized that holding the anger and sadness in wasn't good, and you know the meaning of the words to forgive not for them but for yourself, Keep On Breaking Those Chains, You Are Priceless
Went through that shit thank the Most High I could never repeat it. Still hate my pops but my soul forgives him🙏🙏🙏🙏💯⭐🌙🚀#qwizman #better
