I thought this was only my opinion, but Need for Speed most wanted is indeed the greatest racing game of all time. Every single cutscene, character (Props to these actors, by the way. They look like they're having so much fun with their roles!), design decision, even the bugs and what not, is oozing with personality and soul that can't be recreated by any other racing game.
Sometimes when I enter a corner, I slow down too much and end up having to down-shift more than once. However, I'm not very sure as to when I should down-shift twice and when I shouldn't and just do it once. What advice do you have on this Reiji? If the rpm meter hits 4000, should I down-shift again?
It all depends on the amount your speed is goin once your nearing a cornor, say 100 or more, just slowly tap the brake then cut the cornor a little so u don't end up with less speed when u turn more sharply so u then still keep the lead. Hitting the brake N keepin it down too long will reduce the flow of the air dynamics so then you'll dealing with the problem of losin the lead. Then again, a small well handled drift around the corner could solve the whole thing, but when your at 150 or more, it'll depend on the corner, as if it may be a sharp corner, I'd hold the brake, but just gas it as in don't hold so then you'll car won't tept to lock up the brakes causing loss of the speed u gained, but if it were say a long corner type deal, just slightly tap the brakes. Seeing if u still have trouble, look into the tuning issue in the pause menu when your in free roam, it'll depend on the brand of the car N somtimes if it's rear or front wheel drive, the all wheel drive most likely would have all brakes attached to all four wheels. The more musclely cars make up for this sharp well placed breaking like the mustang, corvette, and the ford gt dispite their hyped up sounds reving with the super charger, plus the tourqe of which muscle type cars are knowin for which makes up for such occasions like braking N sometimes corning, but with tuners the corners should be no prob, but also, with the exotics, like the Mercialogo, Lamborghini, ford gt, Mercedes benz, and the careara gt are balanced with high end stock performance bulit for racing that makes up for cornors and speed, but most players mistake there speed so usually in some cases may end in wall scratches N car crashes. So yah, Lol, I know my stuff in this game N out.😎
It depends on how tight the corner is and how fast you're going, you also have to memorize the gear ratios of your car. In a 90° like the one around the gas station on Rosewood I usually shift twice from 5th to 3rd and NOS afterwards (I have only a Golf with Race performance parts unlocked yet) If it's the hairpin near the donut shop, shift all the way down to 1st and try to steer as much as you can Btw, you don't downshift after you've made the corner, but before it, to have more grip. And about the RPM question, it pretty much depends on the car and the gears, still 4k RPM sounds pretty weak, I think you should downshift twice.
So today I finished once again this game, this time using only the Punto..well the plan was that but since my all time favorite car is the Gallardo....I used it for a while, but against Razor I did use the Punto and....I never beat him so easily, actually in the whole run I only had to restart Earl's and Ronnie's last race ONCE. I love this game and now I would play Underground 2 or Carbon but....I lost my discs so...Undercover. Also what's with you not customizing the visual parts of your cars? I mean, I like to keep them simple too but this is too much even for me
Every time I play this game I notice that Earl's last race is hard if you don't take a lead before the last 20%. On the last kilometer Earl becomes fucking op and he starts driving like a fucking cheater. So if you are behind him you will not beat him by the end. Here I understand you.
I used to rage quit at Earl when I was, like, 9 years old But I always used to run against him in a Stock IS300, you know, I was a dumb kid at that time, when I started to understand more the game and learned english (I'm brazilian) I understood what I had to do, so I run against him in a Mitsubishi Lancer, well, it was easy, sometimes it's just your car, or maybe because he is very op
+Smoove Best car in the game is whatever you want it to be honestly. This game doesn't feature the tier system so any car can get well over 200 mph, especially with junk man parts.
My favorite tuners in the game are the following: Lexus IS 300 Lancer Evolution Vlll Cobalt SS RX-8 Eclipse RX-7 Subaru Supra Audi A4 I wish they added a little bit more tuners to the game, but overall this is one of the best racing games of all time.

i had lots of fun with this game that in free roam mode i was the one chasing police cars to smash them. it was so satisfying
That last jump you are actually lucky, because if you pass the bridge below some speed, you have to restart the chase again from beginning
I respect the fact he doesnt use nitro and yes this is a 2022 comment and it makes it harder to not use NOS so dang this guy is a king
