I'm not gonna lie, I think both the original Stuntman and Stuntman Ignition are awesome games. They can be frustrating but they're so batshit crazy and unique that it's hard to not enjoy them.
Stuntman 1 is super tight and unforgiving compared to ignition but it's still fair enough to beat its levels just by a hair on most levels. But those arena challenges are such a treat that it really doubles the value of the game
As a general fan of this game, I can tell you that constant rage restarting is totally natural and how one should expect to see gameplay footage of this game.
And Ignition is a cakewalk compared to the original. Good lord, the _second_ you get to Blood Oath in the original the difficulty ratchets up to the nth degree
Yes, that is Christopher Sabat as the narrator (was wondering why All Might/Vegeta/Piccolo/Elfman was teaching me driving techniques), which means like Borderlands and Smite, it got many Dallas/Funimation VA's, like Colleen Clinkenbeard, Brina Palencia, J. Michael Tatum, Mike McFarland, Eric Vale, Brandon Potter, Chris Rager, Bruce Dubose and Mark Stoddard. Was not expecting that!
Stuntman Ignitions movies Vs the real life movies. Aftershock = Dante's Peak Whoopin' and Hollerin' II = Dukes of Hazzard Strikeforce Omega = G.I. Joe Overdrive = like any cop movie ever? Lol Never Kill me again = More then likely Mission Impossible Night Avenger = Batman
@@RadicalOne95The setting and the main character's car in Overdrive are ripped straight from Bullitt (other than the stripe being from Starsky and Hutch) but it's basically a pastiche of every 70s exploitation action movie.
I used to own both games as a kid. Now I still have Stuntman, which is still fun. Hot Tip: The score is meaningless if you're trying to get a 5-star rating. All it needs to do is to keep the combo string going, even if you missed a certain stunt.
You said stunt drivers should have their own Oscar's, crazy enough they do! They're called the Taurus stunt awards and this game actually features them in every level (when you do the 3 stunts and get "Nominated") and has a whole bonus video about them in the game
Holy fuck Stuntman needs to come back. This shit would be so hype on a modern console or pc game, with those graphics to showcase the spectacle in all its glory.
Both Stuntman games are really neat, but it's kind of a shame Ignition doesn't really feel like they had the same passion for the vision of the first game. Making director stunts irrelevant for 5 starring and putting way less effort into the cinematography of the replays. Going more over-the-top instead of vaguely trying to feel educational about actual Hollywood stunts. Still though, feels great to play and doesn't have the abysmal loading times of the first, and the multiplayer is actually pretty fun and underrated.
Still remember when I completely screwed up a bridge jump at the end of a mission (take? What were they called anyway?) in the first game and started flipping over and over, somehow landed upright and succeeded anyway, would have great viewing in an actual movie I’m sure.
Dude, I adore this game, despite all the rage restarts I suffered through. The Dante's peak rip off were my favorite levels, but the batman-like commercial done later is my second favorite for sure. Thanks for playing it!
I loved these games! I wanna see Matt play a bit more of this one (maybe some of the first one as well). Gotta show off the parodies of James Bond, GI Joe, and Batman.
I loved this game when I was younger. I had the PS2 version so it's interesting to see what the next gen version looked like. At the moment it seems like the same game but with better graphics.
I remember finding the original Stuntman infuriating but, always came back to it. I don’t know if Ignition has it but, the arena mode from the original where you could set up your own insane stunts made up for the rage caused by the regular courses.
Matt, you have to keep playing and do the Bond Movie levels, they're awesome! Used to love this game - indeed the Stuntman's best friend is the Restart Button.
@@MattMcMuscles my apologies, it doesn't exist. I must've mistaken it for the 360 version or something. I just remember the score counter at the end of the level would call you a string king and a bunch of golden effects being used.
Fun tip: If you wear a headset, the director will talk through it instead of the TV to mimic being in the drivers seat.
Yes! I can't tell you how much more badass this makes the game. You can hear the directors calls and cues but on the telly you just look like a pro.
Holy krap
Mind blown
Reminds me of Sly 2 on PS2.
If you had that Socom Headset, something similar would happen. Cool feature nonetheless.
Same thing happened in manhunt, pretty cool feature

I loved going through Stuntman trying to perfect every level. Legit adrenaline rushes.
I would've probably enjoyed Stuntman 1 more if every scene didn't have "that 1 fucking stunt".
@@TheSonic497 to be fair that only becomes a thing in the 2nd half of the game
As a general fan of this game, I can tell you that constant rage restarting is totally natural and how one should expect to see gameplay footage of this game.
YESS!! I just 5 star completed the career mode and it took me a DAY with few breaks and I still nearly threw myself out my bedroom window!
And Ignition is a cakewalk compared to the original. Good lord, the _second_ you get to Blood Oath in the original the difficulty ratchets up to the nth degree
Any piece of media that has the line “I wish you were my dad.” Is an absolute win in my book
Well your just a woopin' and a hollerin' over that one ain't ya?

Jokes on you. Whoopin' and a Hollerin' 2 went on to win 5 Emmys, 3 Oscars, a Grammy and a Cable Ace award.
Is that Chris sabat as the announcer? Edit: it is Chris sabat, thanks for telling me how to drive in this game piccolo goku obviously can’t.
"Wanna go drive cars?"
"Bitchin."
Matt, you always seem to pick out the best games to play. Thank you for bringing attention to so many games that nobody seems to talk about! 🙏🙏

Overdrive = like any cop movie ever? Lol

I'm sure Never Kill Again is supposed to be a James Bond spoof. I don't know which movie though, maybe The World is Not Enough or Die Another Day.
@@TheSonic497 I was originally gonna put that, but I haven't sceen too many James Bond films so I wasn't too sure
Ain't Overdrive supposed to be more like Bullit or Starsky and Hutch? At least according to the game's official Wikipedia page?
@@RadicalOne95 probably? I've never seen those either sadly.

This was one of the first games I worked on. Was QC back in the day, and we had a ton of fun working on this one.
My lifelong dream is to win an Oscar for longest stunt chain in a feature film.
"But what's my motiviation in this scene?"
"You're trying not to die"
Yo, that Chris Sabbat talking about chaining stunts?
"Scene rejected: vehicle in lava" is seriously the best version of "game over" in human history.
How dare Piccolo try to teach me about driving!
I don't think All Might is a good driver either.

The cheat codes for this game were amazing too

I AM HERE! TO EXPLAIN YOUR NEXT STUNT LIKE A HERO!
I love how Piccolo from DBZ (Chris Sabat) is the narrator before stages.
..Is that Christopher Sabat as the director? That's..huh.
Magitek1112 yes it is
10 years ago I could never work out what it meant when it said “HIT THE ACTION BUTTON”
THE ORIGINAL! MY GOD!!
Yeah, both the Stuntman games were great. The cheesy trailers for the movies just made it better
Oh I used to play this game a lot as a kid.
THIS IS THE ONLY GAME I EVER 100% completed
@@JP_Crimson amazing
World need a Stuntman 3, it's such a unique game series.
Also, would Stuntman be car-based roguelike? Kinda, sorta...
I loved this game! I was always confused when my friends wouldn’t talk about it.
What’s a Halo? Where my “Ignition heads” at?..... It’s a term!
Another WCW reference! I love this channel man!
I loved the original and didn't mind the first few parts of the game but never got to grips with the bikes unfortunately.
Recently rebought this and it’s so much fun. Would happily watch more!
I love this game soooo much
this looks really fun actually
Is the tutorial guy Piccolo?!
somethinorother64 yes it is
One of my all time favorites! Thank you for this video :)
Was that narrator Chris Sabat? That was totally Piccolo training you how to play.
Please play the OG stuntman Matt!
Dat framerate
I just bought this game to replay
The guy in the car in the green shirt, the green shirt is green screen
Matt, you have to keep playing and do the Bond Movie levels, they're awesome!

I have a love-hate relationship with that button!
Am I the only one who thinks the guy explaining the stunt string sounds like Piccolo??
