So happy you are feeling better. I'd like to have my eyes fixed someday, even if I had to have PRK I'd do it after hearing your experience. Happy to see you back!
Oh goodness I'm so glad you're feeling better! I get migraines and when one of those hits I'm affected for a couple days to a week or so afterwards and I'm extremely sensitive to lights and screens. It is so frustrating to have to live in the dark without something to look at because it makes you hurt. I can totally emphasize with that. So sweet Phaedra stayed by your side like that!! My kitties do the same thing! :) So glad to hear you overcame your anxiety and came through the other side, that takes a lot of strength! You're a strong person and I'm so proud of you! :)
I am so happy for you that you did PRK. It sounds so scary to be awake before the Xanax took effect. I'm sorry, you had to be more scared than you're telling us. Completely understand. It's your eyes; your vision. One minor mishap and the results could have been detrimental. You have a beautiful aura and good karma galore. Only positive things will come your way. I hope you'll be less sensitive in the future. Feel better soon. Peace, love and healing energy sent your way!
Lexi Hay I think because it was over with so fast, I didn't have time to get more scared. I was definitely freaking out on the inside, but because it didn't hurt, it was possible to get through it.
My experience was just like yours!!!! My Xanax did not take effect. The only difference was I did lasik on my right eye and prk on my left eye. This happened two days ago so currently my left eye hurts. But my right eye is fine. So it’s awesome to hear I’m not alone in my laser eye experience. Thanks for the video
@@souleymeneabbadi3891 I recommend LASIK at a clinic that specializes in it specifically. You will pay more money but it is worth it. LASIK is best for the common person who wants a super quick recovery. You can go back to work the next day. PRK is for the athletes or people who want to join the army. I have an Astigmatism as well as a lazy eye. I was nearsighted (well still am - but to a lesser degree) I had Laser PRK almost 20 years ago. (interestingly enough I paid the same price you did!) I remember it being fast and I remember all those drops. I don't recall the experience being particularly painful though. It did regress somewhat about 8 years later but I have been told that it can happen, and also I have halo effect around lights- another side effect I am told is much less now a days. Sorry you had a hard experience!
Jade Horner-Chinappi Wow! Happy you were able to do it but sorry to hear about the regression. I actually have less halo now than I did before, which is pretty amazing. The laser they used they were able to custom adjust to address that issue.
Phyrra Nyx Interesting that they adjusted to laser to compensate for the halo. I don't think that was an option back when I had it done. I never regret mine though, as I started wearing glasses at 18 months old, I was very glad to be rid of them!
@@souleymeneabbadi3891 no. I've thought about it. Now I'm in my 40's I need reading glasses but that's an age issue (happens to most people) not a problem with the surgery.
Hi, I did PRK vision correction surgery in 2015. In 2022, because of the tech work I do and screentime, my astigmatism came back in my left eye and I had to wear glasses when using computers. This year (2024), my up close vision is weaking but I still have 20/20 for driving, so I just had to get a slight script for reading glasses.
@@Phyrra Got it. Thanks! Yes, computers... But did you doctor tell you if you did monovision (one eye for distance, another for close) or was it symmetric?
No, no monovision. It was the same thing done to both eyes. I was very nearsighted (like -9.5 in contacts in both eyes). I had it fixed to 20/20 for both eyes so i didn’t have to wear glasses or contacts 24/7, which i did for most of my life. Now i have to wear glasses when I work.
Hey! Do you have any side effect regarding looking at the screen of your computer/phone ? Since I'm working 10h/day on a computer, i'm a bit worried that after a couple of months and years after PKR, I would have headache or effect on ym eyes. Thanks!
I did have to get glasses because my astigmatism came back from working long hours staring at screens. I did an update video on my channel about PRK if you want to watch it. I unfortunately have limited internet access at the moment so I can’t easily grab the link for you.
I was like -8.5 or -9.0 in contacts, I don't remember what my glasses script is. I had this done in 2015 and have been happy with the results. Not having to wake up every morning and put contacts in or wear glasses has been great.
I would love to get lasik but I'm to big of a chicken. Maybe on day lol. I've wore glasses, now contacts, since fifth grade and I'm almost 35. I can't even marine how awesome it would be. Way to go for going through with the prk. Glad you are doing better :)

My vision now is 20/20 or slightly better than 20/20 but I'm sure it will change soon because I just turned 41 and your vision does change in your 40s. My eyes were like -9.25 or -9.5 in contacts. I could not do lasik because my cornea was too thin. I could do PRK. It was not painful. I wish I had done it when I was 21! I was just too scared.
