I have one and it has inherent issues. The clutch splines is due to not enough engagement of the clutch. An aftermarket clutch can be bought but the replacement is a nightmare. About 10 hours of labor. The Hall effect sensor wiring insulation fails on all of them and needs replacement. The fuel filter is inside the tank and difficult to replace. Some starters had the stator coils glue fail making the abs lights to stay on. Bike is heavy and tall. All wiring loom covers flake off. Final drive failures due to improper bearing preloading. Swing arm bearings are prone to failure and expensive to replace. The maintenance on this bike is way too expensive compared to a Japanese equivalent. If you can’t get one cheap and do your own maintenance stay away.
Bought my black GSA in Kuwait early 2003 and still riding it now here in the U.K. It has had some problems from wear & tear but overall, great.
Take it for a quick ride and gives it 9/10 for reliability...

I think you may have had a Friday version. I’ve had mine 16 years from new, I’ve never had an issue with anything you have mentioned.

some have misaligned transmissions. if not, then low rpm cruising can cause excessive wear from the engine power pulsing, or engine lugging
